Student Visa Fraud Ring

Student Visa Fraud Ring – A California man was arrested on Monday with the operation of a ring of illegal test-takers.

The man assisted numerous Middle Eastern nationals in obtaining U.S. student visas by gettin proficiency and college-placement exams passed for them, according to a recent report at Associated Press.

Eamonn Daniel Higgins, 46, of Laguna Niguel made an appearance in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, on one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud. Sixteen of Eamonn’s suspected clients, who had remained in Southern California, were also arrested by Federal immigration agents.

According to Debra Parker, acting deputy special agent in charge for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Los Angeles, said that in one incident – a blond woman who was working for Higgins was able to take an exam using a fake ID that paired the woman’s photo, with another man’s Arabic name.

Authorities have stoped short of saying that any of the clients were engaged in any sort of terrorist avtivity.

Bret Michaels and Miley duet (Hear It!) – Miley Cyrus has given rocker-turned-reality TV star Bret Michaels a big career boost by agreeing to appear on his upcoming solo album.

Cyrus asked the Poison star to join her in the studio for her reworking of the band’s classic Every Rose Has Its Thorn, and Michael’s used the opportunity to play the teen pop star a bunch of new tracks.

The teen singer fell in love with one of the tunes, Nothing To Lose, and asked if she could perform with the rocker on the track.

Michaels tells Billboard.com, “When we were in the studio, I said, ‘Do you want to hear some of my new tracks?’ She said ‘I’d love to,’ and I played her Nothing to Lose and she fell in love with it and said she’d love to sing on the song. I was like, ‘That’d be killer!’”

And the rocker admits he was impressed with Cyrus’ Stevie Nicks-style vocals: “One of her heroes is Stevie Nicks. I produced and recorded Stevie before, so I said, ‘OK, let’s take that approach…’ She ended up having a great time doing it.”

Nothing to Lose will appear on Michaels’ upcoming Custom Built album.
