President Barack Obama has sent written letter condolences to the Jackson family, an Obama adviser said Sunday.
The President had been faulted in some quarters for his slow and informal acknowledgement of Michael Jackson’s death, according to the Politico.
“The president has written the family and has shared his feelings with the family,” Obama senior adviser David Axelrod said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
Axelrod said that Obama was prepared to recognize Jackson at a press availability Friday with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, but apparently no reporter brought up Jackson’s death.
“The president obviously believes that he was an important and magnificent performer,” Axelrod said on NBC. “Obviously, he led a sad life in many ways as well but his impact is undeniable.”

Imagine the Presidents concerned about a Freak Pedophile while the country is going to hell. This clown is worse than Bush.
Next he’ll be doing the moon walk !

I agree with D. Gates and Dave G.!! Jackson was a poor excuse for a human being and to think of Mr. Obama sending words of sympathy to one star’s family and not another, who died the same day, speaks volumes!
Comment by Vicki Smith — July 4, 2009 @ 9:16 am
Look people what is the point in calling him a freak pedophile. He is dead and anything that you say can’t hurt him anymore. The point is he is dead and no matter what you think people are hurting because he is gone. He was still someone’s son, father, brother, and friend. The people he was close to and even the people he reached through his music are hurting. How would you like it if someone spoke ill about someone you cared about that just passed? Also yes Farrah Fawcett died and that is very sad but she was not the international superstar that michael jackson was which is why she did not receive the coverage that he did. Yes it is very sad that it happened this way. She was definitely a star in her own right
Comment by Mel J. — July 4, 2009 @ 9:18 am
The Prez wrote a condolence letter to the Jackson’s because Michael is one of the world’s most well known icon. As for Farrah Fawcett, she’s hardly known to anyone nowadays. Only old people like you, Dave G, would know her because of the Charlie’s Angels tv show in the 70’s. People in today’s world knows Charlie’s angels as the movie with Cameron Diaz, Lucy Lu, and Drew Berrymore. So Farrah and Michael are incomparable.
Comment by Yojimbo — July 4, 2009 @ 9:18 am
You’re correct, Yoj–Farrah and Michael are imcomparable! Farrah certainly didn’t have a reputation of diddling kids!
Comment by Vicki Smith — July 4, 2009 @ 9:28 am
Dear Yojimbo,
Farrah is just as well known as Michael. You can say “Farrah” anywhere and everyone will know who you mean. If you say “Michael”, people want to know Michael who or which Michael….Michael Douglas, Michael Keaton, Michael Bolton….see what I mean.
I was not a big fan of MJ but I do thing he was awesome musically. It’s just a shame his life was a shambles. That is so sad and so is his early (much too early) death. I wish the best for his family, especially the children.
Comment by psf — July 4, 2009 @ 9:31 am
The impact that Michael Jackson had on the world of pop culture is undeniable. If the President sent his condolences to the family, it is simply because of that impact. If this is your only avenue to express your dissatisfaction with his politics by comparing him to Bush because of it, that is really sad and uninformed. Did he send his condolences to the Fawcett camp… who knows? Do you? I get greatly concerned when people make ignorant (different from stupid, although not very far from it) judgments based on a life lived that they have no accurate assessment of. Jackson’s bizarre (to us) behavior could be based on a number of things of which we have absolutely no idea. Why don’t you use more energy on remembering events in a positive manner and not all of this negativity? I wonder if those that wrote the previous comments even voted this last election, or the one before that. Do get out and do anything about your stated position, make a positive impact in any way, or do you just like to sit back, judge, bitch and allow your complacency to be the leader of your worlds. Now that is SAD indeed!!!
Comment by T Thomas — July 4, 2009 @ 9:32 am
You absolutely can’t tell me that if Obama was white and sent his sympathies to Farrah’s family and not Michael’s, that people wouldn’t be screaming racists!
Comment by Vicki Smith — July 4, 2009 @ 9:35 am
His parents are not to blame for his bizzare behavior. He has free will remember. He made his own choices and he alone is responsible for them. The fruits of his labor are here in this world! Woe to him for where he is now! Once again he failed to make the right choice as far as his eternal destination.

MJ was accused of a crime and if he did it he was a monster but I did say “IF HE DID IT” Now I do know this the mother of the child sold him out for 20 million dollars. Now if my child said a man touch me in a bad way he would be in jail or I would kick his ass. I don’t hear ANYONE talking about the mother who sold her son’s innocents for 20 million dollars. MJ was the best in music and the records he broke proves it. He made people happy all around the world and he was love by Royalty and Presidents alike. Elvis was a racist a cheat and a drug addict but you call him KING? When you had a parent who was focus on money instead of allowing his child to grow also beating his kids when he thought they were not focus enough in his eyes was the MONSTER not MJ. God Bless the family and God Bless the media because two weeks ago he was jacko and now he is a ICON just for ratings. The media is more of a monster then anything because they will bury you just for rating or make you a hero for also rating and that makes them more dangerous then anyone.

Why is everyone so concerned over our president sending a letter to the Jackxon family, if that were the case then there have been many well known stars who have died since he came into office.Should he have sent letters to all of them?
Michael was a cute kid, turned into a freak, He was a great entertainer ( I personally never cared for him, bought or listened to any of his music, I’m a Jimmy Buffett and country type person ) but come on people our president has more important things to think of. and If it’s because he was a black singer who tried to turn white, and we have a biracial president, shame on all of you.

Dave you just simply jealous that Michael is getting all this attention over a blonde. But Michael is ahead of Farah Fawcet by miles with no one inbetween. How are they in any way comparable. The proof is in the pudding. The world is celebrating his memory, Obama acknowledges a Giant. Fawcett was an american icon, michael was an international icon. The demand shows by the news coverage. The news only covers what the public demands. The public wants more of Michael so they get more. If they wanted more of Fawcett then it would be her name on the airwaves. Anna Nicole got the same attention on American news as Michael, except, Michael got more international atention. The funny thing is, if Michael had not died that day, Farrah would have never gotten as much attention as she did. They kept her in the news that long to appease her few fans like you david, who is in such denial, to not leave her in the background. you’re the only one saying she was greater than michael. She did charlies angels and a few movies. Michael has a vast body of work and made zillions. She’s neve catch up if she lives to be a thousand at her rate. That is so laughable to envy what he well earned. Seep in your rage and jealousy, but Michael was found innocent of all charges. It is hateful people liek you who spoiled his legacy by charging him with child molestation, it is grief that killed him. He turned to drugs when the people he loved most, the people he tried to look like turned and betrayed the innocent overtures he made to preserve his lost childhood. Time will tell but that boy he paid the money to to not drag his name through the mud the first tiem, that boy is going to confess on his death bed that Michael was innocent. Right now he must be overcome with guilt. I wont be surprised if he commits suicide himself. He opened a flood gate for all the greedy hustlers to come in and further accuse Michael once they heard there was a pay-off. They knew it was easy then. You guys have no idea what you have down to that man, and you blame Joe jackson for his problems. Joe Jackson becomes the villian for a country that maligned an innocent man and ended up killing him!

For all the bigots who want to compare President Obama with Bush, light a cross on your lawns and celebrate the 4th. For us ‘Old Schoolers’, sure we remember Farrah and Charlie’s other angels, and yes, that poster! But we also remember that memorable Ed Sullivan show, American Bandstand, Soul Train, the tours, the MUSIC. The events that have stretched nearly a half a century, making Michael the icon he became, is not even debateable. Ask yourselves about the financial impact he’s had thru those years, especially now with the cancellation of his tour. And for all those who bring up his indiscretions, I think one Man said it best, “….he who is without sin, let them throw the first stone.” Get a life, give credit where it’s due, and clean out your own back yards.

What is the meaning of this negative banter? People die and we feel sad when it happens but of course it hits close to home when it is someone close to use. Mel J. You are right he was someone’s child same as Farrah and their are people grieving for both of them. I am pretty positive thier are many people with “issues” that do not come to light including some writing on these blogs. Unless you are God himself no one has a right to judge someone. No one was their when anythng happened so we do not know what is truth and what is false. Instead of being negative or simply having ill feelings for someone you didnt even know look at your own lives and what better you can do for yourself or someone else. Other than being negative about things you are unsure about how about this, look at the negatives in your own lives and work on that.

I agree with the above person about Farrah , Michael was a bigger person in his own right and so was Farrah . But back to what I was saying, is NO ONE knows WHAT Michael Jacksons life was like except for him and who ever he let inside of his life. Both of the individuals was given their time to shine some more than others but both received it deserving it or earning it. Both of these individuals lived a life in which many of us would love to live but the pressures surrounding this lifestyle may be to much for us to handle. They are both going to be remembered whether its positive or negative. The end result of all of this is that both of these individuals are gone to heaven and are still loved an will always be loved by many. This is not the time to focus on the negative aspects of one life when there is a family an three children grieving for the lost of a father, or brother or son. To the family of Farrah and Micheal ” We are sorry for your lost” and words can never make up for the feelings you will feel but be strong because they are both look down at you.

They are both looking down on you. Now is the time for everyone to stand together during the time of a loss an let the pass be the pass. We all have aspects of our life in which we wish we could change but time doesn’t rewind or wait for no one. Lesson to be learned: During the time of a lost, the only medicine you can provide is comfort to the family of the bereaved an hope that when you use someone you love the same will be provided to you. One day we will all wear the shoes in which both of these families are wearing ” the shoe of loosing one you love” .

Dear people of hate! I know you all have to be human what kind of human well that’s not for anyone to judge. I know that many of you have heard the sying if you don’t have anything good to say then leave it alone. Yes I know we have freedom of speech. It is totally up to you to say what you feel, by any means if what you feel is negativeness then think how you express these feelings in the public. Think how you would feel if just a few hundred folks knew some of the dirt you have in your closet and just started ripping it out and spreading it out on their lawns for the give away. I don’t see where some get the cells to make comments about people whom you NEVER knew as a person. Your commenting on what someone else has profitted on and you got nothing just some acknowledgments that someday someone will be judged you on. These negative comments show you how a snow ball is created. The first picks it up rolls it in a ball rolls it DOWN hill and people who can’t create thier own just buids this ball of nothing. Imagine this if people knew just facts and after the facts where told or written that if you repeated or copied you you be put to dealth. Well what do you think would happen to those that created B/S, hey these comments would be something nice to look at and carry throughout your day. On the other hand what we have now is people reading these comments and eondering if this dave g or vicki smith is the person next door that we’re going to do bad things to for saying bad things. You never know what goes on behind close doors do YOU! Well as for THE KING of POP the one and only MICHAEL JACKSON my condolences to all who grieve. To those of you who don’t know now you will ” MICHAEL JACKSON IS MUSIC ASK YOURSELF “WHAT” DOES’NT LIKE MUSIC? I come to believe that most humans do, the earth does and everything that grows on it does so how on God’s green earth can YOU dave g, miss smith say things that you’ve heard and not seen about music. Have you ever wished that what you’ve just done or just said can go away and not be heard of again well guess again! I don’t expect for you to apologize so I’ll be the man and do it for you! As for closing I have to say “PEACE”.

I grew up with Michael Jackson and ache for him and his entire family. The day he died I just sat in my living room and cried. He was an incredibly gifted performer in every sense of the word. I studied dance in college and we often used his music. My daughter has been dancing for the past 13 years and also used his music. How many performers can say that their music has touched two generations? My daughter and I were the only two in our family, extended and close, that felt the heartache for several days. I guess you can say that as dancers it’s because his music touched our souls and allowed us to move and express ourselves. Thank you, Michael and Jackson family for the many gifts you have given to all of us. May the Lord bless and keep you all in his tender care in the coming days ahead. We will miss you Michael!

Micheal Jackson was an icon. He rose through many challenges in which accelerated his status as a singer. Many decades of individuals have seen Micheal Jackson as he grew from a child to a star. The impact made regardless of all the negative that may have went on in his life out weighs any and all claimed. Micheal Jackson was a go getter in which he refused to allow anything to hold him back regardless of the media he still found some way to over come it. Regardless of what ” his poison is ” he still maintained a status in which supporters of him found encouragement through him. I remember watching him on tv an I was still in the single digits in age. I have seen his performance which out weighs his personal life. Whether the claims against him are real or aren’t real this is not for me to judge or anyone else it is for GOD to pass on any judgement because his life has been lived an he will always have the ones who are an will always be inspired by growing up to know ” MICHEAL JACKSON”.

I DISAGREE THAT SHE WAS NOT AS POPULAR SHE WAS WELL KNOWN ACTRESS A BEAUTIFUL WITH A SMILE THAT LIT UP THE SCREEN. ALL I GOT TO SAY JUST ONE MORE THING THAT OBAMA HAS DONE TO MAKE DISLIKE HIM EVEN MORE. NOT EVEN OUR MEN WHO FIGHT FOR THIS COUNTRY AND HAS DIED DON’T GET THE TREATMENT THAT MJ HAS GOTTEN. YES THEY GET A LETTER TYPE WITH A STAMP SIGNATURE.

Sending a letter of condolence was very classy and considerate on the President’s part. People will find anything to complain about especially when it comes to our President and because the president didn’t not come on TV and make a formal announcement about an entertainers death then he is considered inconsiderate and unconcerned. Why should he? Does Michael’s death have anything to do with running this country? No! I approve of Obama sending a personal, private intimate letter to the Jackson’s expressing his condolences. That is enough because he didn’t have to do that.

its okay to have an opinion. Its required to have decency and respect for others. Don’t let life’s little quandaries cause you to not see things the way they truly are. People will do just about anything to confuse you into believing the way they do. Stick to your guns and remember who you are, where you came from and what your family and friends are all about. It doesn’t matter what the media germinates, its usually an exaggeration, or an all-out falsehood. Such is life.
Bless those that have been lost, and hopefully found again in a better place.

So what he sends a letter to MJ, maybe he did send a leeter to Farrah Fawcit bit MJ is getting so much coverage! Is that Obama’s fault? No the media is the cause. Michael Jackson was an ACCUSED child molester who was found NOT GUILTY! Stop trying to deny him his recognition for everything great he has accomplished. Farrah Fawcett’s death was not sudden. People had a chance to follow her illness and those closest to her got the chance to say their good-bye’s. President Obama wrote the letter to the Jackson’s because he was a fan, I’m sure. Do you know how many letters the Jackson’s probably received from the general public? Everyone keeps forgetting….he is HUMAN! Why can’t his letter just be acknowledged in the same way the rest are…..as a grieving fan?

It is so sad to me that people are ready to judge another person for what they may or may have not done. If you have never made a mistake then you can talk, but everyone has screwed up some time in life. Everyone has done something which another person would consider strange. Stop hating so much and give the man some honor. He gave more in his lifetime than many of you have ever given. When was the last time you took your money and gave it to a family in need. So don’t throw stones at a person when your life ain’t squeaky clean. Obama has done more than Bush ever has. It takes time to clean up such a big mess that Bush left. To all the people hating, you can have your own opinions, but get a life for real and stop hating on others. Who gonna mourn you when you gone is what you need to be concerned with. And as far as Farrah Facuet goes, how do you know he didn’t send a letter to her family? The media only covers what they wanna cover. Be concerned with your own life!!!

Farrah Faucet though a sad death did nothing for society, but be a great piece of A$$ to look at. She didn’t change the world, quit charlies angels out of greed. Lead Ryan on for years without marriage.
Jackson has helped cancer victim’s, given 100’s of millions to charities and tried to make a change socially. Michael also did alot in regards to racism. What has farrah faucet done. Her best work was a TV movie called burning bed. I’m not making this up. Obama doing the best job as a president in my lifetime. Name one thing he has actually done wrong apart from turn up his thermostat in the winter in the east coast. I still can’t believe the haters were attacking that.

That is what is exactly wrong with America, everyone is always so quick to play the race card. Why aren’t ya’ll speaking of the diffrences they made or the lifes both Farrah and MJ….They both had fans in different times. What does President Obama have to do with any of this, because he is the President does not exempt him from being a human being with feelings. Why it always have to be about black and white. Lets get real America and turn to God. All you negative idiots need GOD and need to pray for America to become the success we once knew. While we are so busy bringing each other down the whole world is leaving us behind and moving ahead. So get a darn life and stop the Gossip please. Before making accusations get the facts because he who Judge should not cast the first stone. Peace and God Bless America…There is only one RACE THE HUMAN RACE!

It’s interesting that these responses tend to be geared toward political parties. However, I always look at a president’s agenda. I have my initial thoughts concerning those agendas, then I read as much as I can about them from a variety of sources. Being well informed about the issues is the only way to intelligently discuss them. Do I favor every decision made by a president? Of course not. Have I ever changed my mind regarding a policy? Certainly. That said, the majority of Obama’s agenda, quite frankly, scares me. Am I right? Am I wrong? Time will tell.
Comment by Mike — July 4, 2009 @ 12:37 pm
Ferrah was great but you cant really compare the two… why does race have to be brought into every debate? I think the Prez is correct in that MJ’s impact on art is undeniable even though his personal life was less than commendable. We should all have prayed for his salvation and healing rather than his condemnation.
Comment by Jason C — July 4, 2009 @ 12:42 pm
norilynne and dave, yep, obama should find out what jail farrah son is in and send him a condolscence letter, I agree. As for obama being racist to send MJ family a letter? That is not racism, that is preference. You can prefer an icon whom you identify with, grew up with and he is SOOOOO HUGE, and he died young, and under tragic circumstances, you send his family a letter. OKAY! (No disrespect, but in the scheme of things Farah was mediocre.) That is far from racism. Racism is denying housing, good schooling and jobs to people because of their race. That really hurts. I can see Farah son hurting in jail because Obama didnt send him a letter. Some of you guys are the ones turning it in to a race thing because a black person is never to get anything on whites, even if it is well warranted. Ooops I forgot. Michael was white. He thought you forgot he was black but you didnt. Such an elephantc memory! Here you go betraying him again and he loved you so. Can you get beyond the color?
PS: Norelynne, u hate Obama anyway. You just wait like a hawk for a blunder. Happy trails! He aint even black when you think about it. Can you forgive his white side? Race, race, race! What is it with you people?

With MJ gone the world is a much better place for our children. It is hard to feel sorry for some one that kills himself with an overdose of drugs. The media which everyone has believeing that they preach the gospel says this guy was takining in excess of 40 pain killers a day. He owes one drug store $11000.00 just from what they have found so far. With the rest of the world trying to recover and hang on this guy was in debt $400,000,000. Do any of you who loves this guy even knows how to spell a sum of money like that. As far as Oboma goes, Why would he make a big deal of this when we are lucky to see or hear about our service people that are fighting to keep us free when they loose their life. I think that the color of your skin is what motivates our President. It makes me sick to my stomach.

President Obama and his wife are not racist at all. They are about my age and we simply grew up with the Jackson5. As for the comparisons to Bush, and other presidents of my time, Obama is clearly the most articulate and well rounded thinker. He is a more thoughtful president and attempts to look at all angles of issues. He didn’t create the problems we are all living with. He’s just been forced to make the tough decisions. He just needs support. If Americans don’t like the way the government is working, they (we) need to stage a coup. Americans don’t have what it takes anymore to take action and the people who do can’t do it ourselves. The “majority” are the lazy complainers sitting on the couch believing everthing the media says and watching reality TV.
Many people who have served our country, including me are ashamed at the quality of character of our fellow Americans. Happy “Independence”Day and “God” Bless America and all of our wonderful lack of morals and ethics!

Dont be mad because you voted for John McCain and that loser lost. If McCain had of sent the Jackson’s a condolence letter than it wouldn’t be a issue. I dont condone the different things Michael Jackson did but you cant take anything away for his abilities as an artist. He is the greatest of all time. Farrah Fawcet was a great actress but when Michael Jackson died Farrah Fawcet became unfortunaely an after thought because of how big of a star Michael Jackson is. When James Brown died did George Bush send his family a condelence letter, hell no so if Obama is a racist so is Bush

Let’s remember that there were two loss here. Families on both sides are hurting. Fans alike. The president could relate to MJ because, as he said, that is who he grow up on. Not in any way do I think he was favoring one over the other. I watched Charlie Angels in the 70’s – 80’s and also listen to MJ. MJ had a career that lasted 40 years, very few we can say that about. They both had their fame in their time one just lasted a little longer than the other. For all the negative people….GET A LIFE! Your anger is not towards MJ or the Prez it is your own settings that you are trying to withdraw from. Seek counseling it may help.

But as we open our eyes and stand together as people there may be a chance to diminish these human animals. Please do not be blind or paralyzed by luxury. I think that the letter was appropriate, the president didn’t bring it up during the press conference because he was more focused on the issues that were at hand. The man does have a country to run you know, so if he had mentioned MJ people would have said he needed to be more worried about the countries business. How does anyone know that the pres didn’t reach out to Farrah’s family in some sort of way? If so it simply received no press because who would have cared? That’s not news, that’s interesting, it’s unfortunate that they both passed on the same day, but was is even more unfortunate is that they passed on the same day, Farrah’s tribute and what not on the internet was short lived after the news of MJ was confirmed.

Reading some of your comments make my skin crawl. You are seriously some F*cked up haters. First of all, WTF with attacking anyone…lets see you try to run a country that was seriously run into the toilet before he ever became the leader of the free world. Not everything that a president does has to do with who he is to a country, he is still a man…a bi-racial man. Maybe Michael Jackson meant something to him as a human being, maybe his music reached Obama on a human level, maybe he was a longtime fan, maybe you should all just shut the f*ck up and try to be better people. The fact remains that Michael Jackson is dead and millions of people all over the world are saddened. Whatever the truth is about what happened behind closed doors will never be known to anyone other than the people who accused him…I wouldn’t believe anything that any of them said…money is a huge motivater and Michael Jackson was a huge target for anyone who he let close. The man never had a normal childhood and sadly that was the price he paid for his enormous success as an entertainer. I myself was never into him, his style of music was just not my cup of tea, but I saw him grow up in front of the cameras since he was a child and no matter what any of you say, he was born to entertain. He was a great talent. Since his death I’ve been searching on the internet and found great music videos that I haven’t thought about in years and I forgot just how talented this man was. To those of you who saw him as a freak chasing after your little children, watch interview after interview with all sorts of people asking the questions…he was nothing but a child in a grown mans body. I sincerely believe this man didn’t have a malicious bone in his body. I am sad that this gentle man has left this earth and even sadder that the world which he gave so much to was cruel to him.

Maybe he sent the letter because he felt a personal loss. Do you realize how many people love MJ’s music. I’m sure Obama grew up idolizing MJ like so many others. I loved Farrah to but for one thing we all knew she was dying she even had a whole show about it on TV. MJ’s death was sudden and shocking. Obama has the same right as the rest of us and that is to send condolences to anyone he chooses. For people to cry racisim is crazy rememeber he is half white and was raised by his white family. I guess he hates himself, right? Michael Jackson is an entertainer whose body of work will carry on forever. Do they even show Farrah’s reruns anymore? Get over it and stop the hating.

Both Farrah and Jackson were AMERICANS. Obama’s letter to the Jackson family was extrememly delayed. Does anyone know why that was? I am glad Obama sent his condolences.. BUT, why NOT to both families? That was just DUMB and does appear to be racist. The President should, even in the smallest of his actions, try to do things to bring America together. Instead, he gives us more reasons to believe that he is one sided and just doing something that might make him popular in the news.

Who’s to say that MJ’s charges are more dertimental than my secrets? Society does. I wasn’t brought up on charges before a court of law…TWICE. I didn’t have a child describe my genitils. I didn’t have a private doctor feeding me narcotics illeagally. I didn’t go on national TV and declare that I like to sleep with other people’s kids.

It really does not matter if the president sent a letter or not…neither does the innocence or guilt of Michael at this point….the Bible says that “ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”… “ALL” includes everyone who has ever lived, and continues to live, including every one who has posted a comment on this site, and those who are reading it…those who are talking, those who are reporting, commenting in any way….WE ALL have sinned..unfortuantely we (think) we know where and how Michael has fallen short….Miss Faucett has fallen, but not as publicly as Michael has….There is only ONE way into heaven. It is not on a broom, or on a jet but it is by “confessing with the mouth, the Lord Jesus and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead that we shall be saved”…I read an article this past week, according to Andre Crouch, that Michael did just that a week or so before he died….He confessed the Lord Jesus Christ – therefore, he “is a new creature, and old things have passed away” his sins are forgiven, and he has a mansion in heaven, “not made by man’s hands”…there is nothing that Obama sending a letter can do for him, it can only comfort the family….All of the hate that is displayed on this site….useless! You are insulting one another, but none of it can change your life for the better and it can not give you eternal life. When all of this coverage and debate dies down, or when you get tired of reading it – read the Word of God. It will do you much more good than venting on line toward people you do not even know.

Those of you throwing stones, remember, we all live in glass houses, and your turn is coming. How dare you, how dare you! There is no comparison between Michael and Farrah. Of course she was well known, she was a beautiful woman. However, MJ, was know all over our world for the last 45+ years. She was not. I did not vote for Obama, however, I believe he has the god given right to send a letter of condolenses to anyone he feels like sending one to. As a man who has also been acused of crimes and had them all dropped I do know what it’s like to still be told that it doesn’t matter what the judge concluded, I was still guilty! That’s truly America. Guilty by whoever says so no matter if you go through the justice system. Leave that man alone! You can’t get mad if he went through your system and came out a winner by not getting convicted. Maybe if there wasn’t money hungry people in the general public and within the system, maybe just maybe it would have turned out different because as it was previously stated that there is no dollar amount that you can put on your child being molested! The fact that it was a celeb would only push me harder to get them put in prison more! They drop major money all the time! You wouldn’t hurt them at all by charging them money. It’s about what you really want. A payoff or justice. And I’m not even gonna touch the racism issues people have on here and in America. I’m an African American male and have been told by the police that regardless of the outcome of my trial, that I was still guilty! By America’s laws I’m not supposed to have a bullseye on my back, but I do. And I’m gonna say this: I’t’s not the fact that I wasn’t found guilty, it was that they didn’t have anything to say that I was. No pics, no witness, no victim, not even the arresting officer. They threw out the felony charge and actually asked and begged me to plead guilty to the misdemeanor charge. Now I’m crazy, but I’M not stupid. I don’t care if I did do it and you have me on tape, I’m still gonna say “that ain’t me”. Because I’m not gonna tell on myself. If you want me you’ll just have to do your job and catch me. So you better believe that I’m not gonna be in a courtroom confessing to things that I didn’t do. And with no evidence they had to drop felony and misdemeanor charges.

Everyone’s freaking because some people are calling Micheal Jackson a pedophile.Truth hurt? I do believe the first kid was molested but his PARENTS sold him out .I don’t know what to believe about the 2nd. kid, but for all you naysayers did you watch the interview with Micheal that he admitted to sleeping with these kids in his bed?He claimed it was all innocent, but he also claimed he never had plastic surgery on his face!(He said he had his nose fixed after he broke it and then again to help him breathe better!Right…. Also, I believe it was Cory Feldman who finally admitted that Micheal molested him years ago and he decided to come forward because he thought Micheal needed to be stopped. He got nothing for his statements of shame.I do believe that Joe Jackson was the main cause of most of Micheals problems.Look at what good ol’ Joe is doing now.His son should have been buried days ago, but Joe is using his son for monentary gain.SAD!!! A truly gifted man is what Micheal should be remembered as, I hope he is now at peace and free to be happy in his next journey.

The legal system is broken. People who are guilty are being set free and people who are not guilty are being imprisoned. Just because a judge said something doesn’t make it the truth. We are all at fault because we continue to allow it to happen.

All of you amaze me, first President Obama is blasted because he did not pay the proper respect to Michael Jackson and his family, and when people were dogging him for this, did anyone say anything about Farrah? No, they did not. Now because he has tried to “please the people” and written a letter to the Jackson family, he is dogged again because he is apparently racist for not writing one to Farrah’s family. Good grief, give the man a break. I did not vote for the man, but I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and a chance to do his job (which by the way, as far as I know does not include writing condolence letters to the families of everyone who passes away.) This should not even be about who writes a letter to who anyway, it is a time of mourning for all those who loved Michael and those who loved Farrah. I happened to love them both, and will miss them both. You can’t compare one to the other because they worked in entirely different areas of entertainment. And for all those who did not like Michael, and want to say negative things, why bother, you can’t hurt him anymore, he is in God’s hands now, and as far as I know, God is the only one who has the right to judge. So for all those who loved him you can celebrate because he is probably in a better place and cannot be hurt by anyone on this earth again and for all those who hated him you can celebrate because he will face his creator and the one who really has the right to judge him.

For those who still feel the need to condemn Michael Jackson for what you think he may have done in his life, think again. All you know is what the media has spoon fed you. There was never a shred of evidence that Michael molested anyone. Why is it he is not remembered for the millions of dollars he donated to benefit children around the globe. Did any of you mindless ass wipes who continually blast him consider he could very well have been the victim of greedy parents who were out for money. I do not believe for one minute he molested anyone. When you have that kind of wealth you are an easy target. His only fault was putting his trust in the hands of the wrong people who are now, during this tragic period still cashing in on the most prolific entertainer/humanitarian of our time. Shameless!!!!!! I grew up listening to the Jacksons and have nothing but fond memories of a wonderful time in music history. I won’t let negativity and cruel comments tarnish those memories.

I think VICKI SMITH is probably the most ignorant though; and not just because she can’t spell or creates grammatically incorrect sentences. It doesn’t take a lot to describe someone’s genitals. We’ve all got the same stuff. You can see another man’s penis in a public bathroom at the urinal if you feel inclined. MJs accusers were money hungry and knew they could get away with taking advantage of his kindness because he was incredibly naive and believed in the innocence of children to a fault. I’m not an MJ fan, however I’m logical. I cannot see how someone who has given more money to charity than some of us will ever see in our lifetimes, and builds hospital beds in his movie theater so that terminally ill children can enjoy could be hurting children on the side. I thought MJ was weird, as did a lot of people, but I don’t believe he hurt anyone. I’m hoping that one day the truth will come out.
Oh and by the way, hundreds of people die everyday. The president has the prerogative to send condolences to whoever the hell he wants. It’s REALLY not that big of a deal.

Vicki you didn’t go on national tv, nor were you on a balcony. Because like me, who are you? Notoriety has convulsed the premise of our society. If Michael wasn’t a Jackson we probably wouldn’t have been throwing at each other on this 4th of July. No matter, in my opinion Michael’s accomplishments, contributions and talents far outweighed his indiscressions. I believe that’s what every human being would like to be remembered for, the good things they did on this earth. Ask your children.
You have a fantastic holiday, and good thoughts.

Really !!!! This is a very sad day in America to see that some people just cant be happy with anything . So some people are getting bent because the President sent a letter to the Jackson Family !!!! What !!!! So what who cares !!!!!! He did what he felt in his heart Gosh !!!!! And because he is black he is getting BASHED !!!! See this is what is wrong with our country today !!!!! See everybody thinks that they are better than the blacks and the whites and the jews ETC. WRONG !!!!! If we would work as a team yes I said a TEAM this world would be a better place. If everyone in the world would stop trying to see what gossip they can stir up and put that energy into making the world a better place for our children and grandchildren we wouldnt be having any of these troubles in our world .
Is it to much to ask that everyone grow up and take a good hard look at our selfs and just ask what we can do today to start making this a better place to live. And its not BASHING others or thinking that ones better than an other !!!!!
Its time for world peace !!!!!!!!!

If those who criticize the President were to be fair, he clearly held off on bringing up Michael Jackson publicly, probably hopefully to avoid the kind of one-sided attacks that appear on this board. The media kept asking him why he had not commented. The media did not ask why he had not commented about Farrah Fawcett or any other star that passed away; the media only was interested in why he had not said anything publicly.
I do not know if the letter he wrote was to answer all the media pressures, but I believe the President was put in a place where he could not continue to ignore the Michael Jackson death event. Other heads of state across the world had commented — on Michael Jackson’s passing; not Farrah Fawcett’s–so it looked increasingly odd for Obama to remain silent.
Furthermore, we must remember that Michael was the guest of two former Presidents at the White House and recognized accordingly. (Reagan and Bush I were the Presidents, for those who do not know). Clearly, MJ’s stature is undeniable, notwithstanding the accusations levied against him, which were proven to be false in a court of law by a jury of his peers. We have a lawyer for a President, so certainly he realizes that we ought to recognize that justice was served in this instance.
All those who are trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill, get a life, read more, and listen critically and objectively to what is happening in your country and in the world.

Lets get past this race issue. The president is part white and part black. White or black should be for him. We are all people and should love one another. I,m sick of it. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Ed McMahon, Billy Mays, Fred Travelena, and many more wonderful people have died here recently. Our sympathy should go out to each and every one of their familys, Friends, fans ,All who loved them. The fighting has got to stop. Lets mourn and honor them.

THE MAN WAS NOT PERFECT (NEWS FLASH NO ONE IS) BUT THE MUSIC & INSPIRATION HE LEFT BEHIND WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED AND RESPECTED BY HIS MILLIONS OF FANS. PEOPLE ARE SO MISERABLE IN THEIR OWN LIVES THAT THEY FIND JOY IN PUTTING DOWN A MAN WHO HAS ACHEIVED SO MUCH AND FOUND INNOCENT IN THE NEGATIVE CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST HIM. THIS WORLD WOULD RATHER DISCUSS THE THE ALLEGED MOLESTATION & WACKO TALK.RATHER THAN THE AMOUNT OF TIME & MONEY HE PUT INTO SEVERAL CHARITY ORGANIZATIONS, OR THE AMAZING MUSIC & DANCE STYLES WHICH CAME FROM THIS MAN. Seriously, its sad that we lost great people in the last week of june. But for everyone that thinks obama should have stopped and acknowledge his death is just giving a reason to give him a hard time we all know that he is THE icon and one of the greatest that has ever done it. I’m still surprised that the people really reacted this way when no one had his back when he was a “alleged sex offender” you would see the headlines “wacko Jackson” and everything else that made me feel like is this how we think of HUMAN BEINGS. now everyone shouting how big a fan they were. Wow I didn’t see you in the press then. Somethings can go without being said and it was no need for an condolence letter we all know WHO WAS THE REAL KING OF ROCK AND ROLL

President Obama has the same right as every single one of us to express (or not) his feelings to anyone he wants to. The fact that he wrote a letter to the Jackson family shows that either he truly felt that to be appropriate because of MJ’s status, or because he felt obligated to because he would be put down if he didn’t. I’d like to think that he did it because he wanted to. He is the only one who could have made that decision. Remember, he has the same free will that we all have. This is not a political thing. This is choice of a man who holds a very public office. I don’t think a public announcement of his grief was appropriate considering all of the other things he is dealing with at the moment. It’s hard trying to keep everyone happy. Besides…I think Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are doing enough representation for all of us. JMHO

Was Farrah Fawcett the “WORLD’S GREATEST ENTERTAINER???” Did Farrah Fawcett sell over 100 MILLION Albums?? I DON’T THINK SO!!!!!!!!! No one is taking away what role Farrah Fawcett did contribute to the entertainment world, but her ICON status was not at all like Michael Jacksons’.
I guess you people (Vicki Smith, David G. & D. Gates) are totally oblivious to the fact that Michael Jackson was CLEARED of ALL charges, and a few years later the same LITTLE LYING BOY who made those allegations recanted his story. His Greedy Mother and No Good Father wanted money from Michael and the only way to get that money was to falsify the truth.
If you people don’t have anything NICE to say than why waste your time visiting these sites, go plant a tree and save the universe!!!! Oh, one more thing, if the President wants to send the Jackson Family a letter of condolences than what’s wrong with that? And, as far as the world going to “HELL” what are you (David G.) doing to make it a better place, have you done some improvements to your neighborhood or your community for that matter?! You sound like a talker and “NOT” a doer. Talkers are always blaming others for their SHORTCOMINGS and DOERS go out and make a DIFFERENCE and their work speaks for itself!!!!!!!!

I am sick and tired of the great false prophet. His letter to the Jackson family only adds to the frenzy. He didn’t say squat about Fawcett or McMahon, but wait, they are white. Obama, his wife and all their cronies are racist. Mrs. Obama admitted she hates the United States, so go the heck back to whatever rock you crawled out from under. While you are at it, see if you can find your fool husband’s real birth certificate. Obama is a fraud, his neck is on the line already in the Supreme Court for trying to get financial aid under an assumed name and telling people he was an alien. How long are we going to allow them to drag this country down. They have no social graces, slapping the Queen on her back, trying to knuckle bump her, good lord how far down do we have to get in the world’s eye to decided this is wrong. I think it is time that those who voted for him realize they just put us into third world status. As the tee shirt says: One Big Ass Mistake America. God help us.

For all of you still believe that Michael Jackson molested children, stop wasting your time with the media trash and actually look him up yourself. Read his book, watch some interviews. I don’t care. I am just so SICK of all the haters out there who enjoy tearing people apart. The media is the monster here. It was never Michael. Every bad scrap of news you heard from them about Michael is a complete LIE, excluding the mistake he made with the baby and the balcony incident (Michael later apologized for that and said himself it was a huge mistake. But everyone makes mistakes, right?).
I will admit that I thought he was a creepy pedophile, and the guilt from the comments I’ve made will live with me forever. But unlike some of you lazy-ass, media-loving Jackson haters, I actually took the time to learn more about him. And what did I discover? That Michael Jackson was one of the kindest, funniest, and caring celebrities the world has ever known. He loved children. He was one himself, only trapped in the body of a grown man. He created Neverland ranch not only to get away from the vicious media, but to share his home with sick children. He was an angel. And do you know what the world does when it receives an angel like Michael Jackson? We do everything in our power to tear him down, break his dignity and spirit, hurt him until he can’t take it. We as humans are an ugly, hateful, envious race. Michael was incapable of hurting children. I don’t believe a word of what the media says about him. He was a gift from God.
We are so quick to judge a person just because of a spreading lie. Oh, he slept in a chamber to keep from aging! He must be a freak! No. Everything Michael Jackson did in his life that seemed freaky and weird to us had a story behind it, had a reason. Keep in mind that his past and childhood were hard to deal with, and the damn, wolfish media contributed to his downfall. Inside I’m sure he was hurting from the beginning of his career, but that didn’t stop him from reaching out to the world and loving the people and children. THAT is true strength. To keep going even when everyone around you tries to rip you apart.
I hope I never live to see another icon with a big heart like Michael’s fall victim to the media and public ever again. Words cannot express how disappointed, how hurt I am that so many of us were so quick to judge and hurt him. Michael Jackson was a very misunderstood character. I am appalled by the number of people that strove to bring him down just because of the lies they were fed from the media. Again, the media is the true monster. It always will be.
Michael Jackson, you were loved by so many. You were a God-given angel, and I don’t think this was your time to go. You were still on your way to changing the world. I and countless others will miss you, King of Pop and Peter Pan.

Normally, I don’t bother to comment on such “ignorance”, but several of you “little minded individuals” need to be put in your place. Michael Jackson was not only one of the greatest entertainers of all time, but he was also a great humanitarian!! (Look it up for yourselves!) Nobody’s saying that you had to be a fan of his music, but recognize that he truly cared about humans more than you ever could (or probably do!). He donated millions of dollars to people all over the world in order for them to have a better quality of life. (One I’m sure that you don’t value!!)
Too bad some of you have to make this a black/white issue (in regards to Obama). I don’t have to mention each of your names, you know who you are. It would certainly be nice if the rest of us civil-minded folks could just put all of your kind on an island and let you all fight it out to your deaths! Worthless waste of sperm you all are!!!
In regards to President Obama, a lot of crap was dumped into his lap from the “fool” that preceded him. He hasn’t been in office long enough to receive a fair and accurate evaluation.
To all that don’t like Obama or Michael Jackson, why don’t you leave this great country of ours and see just how much better you WON’T be somewhere else!!!

Life is a gift. Death is the end of physical life. We all have so little time to truly celebrate life and live it to its fullest. I’m amazed how many of us waste so many precious moments venting about nonsense. Michael worked hard, became a master at his craft, broke down obstacles and was able to transmit joy, hope and optimism to millions. He lived like very few will ever know how to. He’s gone now. He will be remembered for a very long time. Isn’t it incredible how his passing has inspired so many to try to do whatever possible to honor all that he achieved and try to give a little back? Isn’t that what’s most important? Give and you shall receive. It still works, on all levels, for all people. What’s happening all over the world at the moment is all the proof we need. It’s just plain old human nature.

Most don’t have the nerve in these comments to say they hate this group or that one but will take every turn to try and flip it on whoever they hate (Obama, Michael Jackson, OJ, Mike Tyson etc). The so called Black Person can’t stump their toe without being guilty. Hitler said if you say something loud enough and long enough it becomes true. Even if they are found not guilty they will always be guilty or inferior to the real racist haters. Some people go on these sites (of people they hate and say negative things) just to start an argument. Its been proven that in this society people like to harp on the negative and not the positive.

We don’t know if Micheal messed with those kids or not and if he did he will be judge. If he did or the parent’s thought he did why would they take money instead of watching him rot in jail? what does that say about the parent of the kids? You can’t judge a man until you have walked in his shoes. The hate needs to stop. we are all in this world together even if you don’t like it. we all need somebody red, yellow, black or white. we are all created by one Man and will be judged. the president can’t send a letter out to every singer and actor who dies but at the same time he is free to send one out to anyone he pleases that has nothing to do with us just like what you do doesn’t. it’s sad that some of you hate the way you do thr truth is we are are just passing through and if your heart isn’t right you too or a sinner and you will be judged. both Micheal and mrs. farrah were great people but blame the media for not having her in the news they like hot messes topics and thats what they play.

We are living in the last days of time and we should be thankful for every day that God wakes us up to once again try to get it right. The media is a powerful enemy. There are many forces out here that keep all of us from focusing on what’s truly important in life. We should all be living our lives as God had originally planned. We are all sinners in our own ways and instead of worrying about the wrongdoings of others, we should be focusing on how we can better ourselves before it’s too late.
I pray that Michael made his peace with God before he was taken….

Has anyone noticed that people that have large followings, I mean large, not a lot of fans large, but large worldwide followers, and attempt to make change, don’t seem to live long?
Don’t get me wrong, I understand that every minute someone dies, and it devastates somebody elses life. And my prayers go out to them also. But some people on this planet get so large its almost scary. It almost seems like its the ultimate price to pass away early. Maybe its just my perception, but in my lifetime I think of people like Martin Luther King, Princess Diana, John F. Kennedy, John Lennon, Michael Jackson.
There are people who have effected more change than the above people who live pass their life expectancy, but don’t seem to have large followings. Examples are Rosa Parks, Cassius Clay/Mohammed Ali. I Just wanted to share an observation.

MJ was a child molester using hospital drugs that thankfully killed that piece of SH%t before he did too much damage to those kids they say are his. I know he had his skin bleached but those don’t look like they could possibly be from a black man. I think they should do a blood test to confirm they are actually his.
I never thought he was a great entertainer except for when he was a little kid with J5.
Stars are dropping like flys recently and the president should have more to do then writing letters of condolence to entertainer family members. Soldier families yes, entertainers no.

Just because a person of color wishes they were a shade or two lighter doesn’t mean they wish they were white! This kind of thinking by black people has been going on since slavery. The white masters would always have the lighter slaves work in the house. And also bed with the lighter women! The issue of wanting to be a lighter shade is a battle that is fought between poeple of color and that’s why white poeple don’t understand. And alot of white people try to be a shade or two darker. Look at all the tanning salons and spray ons there are.

How many of us can say we have helped any charity? And if we did, how much did we contribute? People are quick to judge based on what they hear in tabloids, but here are some facts:
Michael Jackson is a true humanitarian, an example to us all. He has devoted much time and money to a wide range of charities. I think Michaels brother said it best, Michael was a gift that the world was not ready for and did not appreciate. But the truth is God knows, and only God can judge him. When he helped set up the Heal the World foundation, maybe he had people just like those on here in mind….if we could all stop hating long enough to help someone else….the world just might be a better place.

People that leave disdainful comments like Dave G, are sad themselvves…. There for the grace of GOD go I, the saying goes. This man wanted nothing more from this life, but to be loved and make music. The negative, self-loathing people that condemned him through life are responsible for his death. This man was beaten, denied a childhood, but still became the most innovative musical genius of our time, that speaks volumes….. Dave G. what have you contributed to this world? That’s what I thought nothing but your hate. It’s awfully Ironic that he was acquitted of all charges, especially when the welfare mom who charged him found out she wasn’t getting a dime. People always dwell on the negatives in life. Did you realize this man gave MILLIONS to healing the sick, poor and undernourished?

con’t… No of couse not, THAT WON’T SELL PAPERS, MAGAZINES ETC . Do you believe everything that some tabloid magazine prints? Of course they’re going to over-sensationalize it to sell more copies. Also, it’s not very patriotic to make disparraging comments about our President. That man can acknowledge anyone he pleases, you or I don’t have to agree with it….it came from his heart. How can you tell someone how to feel?

If it has a UFO on it, people will still buy it, making that paper a billion- dollar corp! Mabe it’s because I’M from the show me state that I’m just not gonna believe everything you say, but if I was interested in the truth I would get off my butt and go find the truth instead of talking a whole lot of stuff that I don’t know anything about.

I am extremely bothered that President Obama did not make a public statement to the family, friends, and many fans of Michael Jackson. As our President. I expect our President to acknowledge the suffering and sadness of the citizens of our nation, and others around the world, given that Michael Jackson was, and still is, a national treasure. Shame on you President Obama for your lack of compassion. You really missed the mark!!!

All the racist haters can’t accept that Obama has a different shade of skin than them or that one day a woman may be President no matter what shade their skin is. As for Michael vs Farrah people knew about him before anybody ever thought about her. MJ’s accomplishments can’ t be denied no matter how hard you try. He’s a global super star not her. The world mourns him. Most don’t know her but they know Tom Cruz. If Obama had pale skin and sent a letter to his family and not hers what would you say then. Everybody on this planet is thinking saying or doing something displeasing to the Almighty God. We all have to pay for what we do. Do you honestly believe everthing you hear in the media or just negative things about those you hate. Do you think that the Father God is pleased by your hatred or your fake denial of it? Could you stand up to every aspect of your life being scutinized and not being able to go anywhere on earth and not be recognized from your childhood to an adult? People accuse celebrities of wrong all the time to try and get paid. Are all of them guilty or just the so called Black ones? If your child accused someone of molestation would you want money or blood. Those people took money. Because Of Mj’s genealogy to the racist haters he’s guilty or Obama is inferior. It took 8 yrs to run this country in the ground and you expect Obama to turn it around in 6 plus months. They say Elvis and Howard Hughes both had drug problems ect but you don’t want to talk about that right. People know Mj over many generations and he’s loved and missed by millions, the percentage or haters is small. RIP King of Pop!

On June 25th, 1959; The State of Nebraska executed Charles Starkweather for killing 11 people for his princess, Caril Ann Fugate. And I wondered how the 50th Anniversary of his demise would come to what form. I had a nightmare seeing Lincoln, Nebraska ending up like Hiroshima, 8/6/45 on the 50th anniversary of the demise of Charles Raymond Starkweather. However it took another form, the passing of Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson. And it’s sad they passed on the 50th anniversary of the demise of Charles Starkweather. Both Farrah & Michael were icons of there time & had many friends & fans. Everyone has to go sometime, and on the 50th anniversary of the demise of Charles Starkweather, Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson also got there lottery numbers picked. The end.

I think Dave & Vicki and those who are making such hate comments are forgetting that someone died! and it’s but a norm of life that people condole and give sympathy to those he/she left behind. Why do we have to compare the degree how people react to such a tragedy. We should just pray for their souls as others will when it’s our turn to face our Maker.

I do believe that Obama may have known MJ and not Farrah that could be very well why he sent a letter to MJ’s family he may have Farrah’s too no one really knows. As Obama did state that he grew up on MJ music, and how popular MJ was also could be why he did MJ being a World Icon.
But as far as Obama being purely black I do have to disagree because if he were truely ALL BLACK both of his parents would have been black and as everyone knows his MOTHER WAS WHITE and HIS FATHER BLACK so NO he is NOT TRUELY ALL BLACK!

I know not everyone has the same opinion but please let his family mourn for their son, a father, a brother and friends to many in the world and bury him. People think he was sick in many many ways but who are we to Judge. We are not GOD, and I know that not one of us are perfect and we all have made lots of mistakes or have been misjudged by others. Michael was hurt beyond help and the only things that helped him was what he was doing or taking. We the world looked down on Michael because of what we thought be did wrong but he was never convicted of any of these molestation charges against him. Why is the whole world looking at what he supposedly done wrong instead of looking at the things he did for the world. What about all the charities that he gave money to and who or what those charities used the money for (MAybe its a charity that you go to for help). You see this I how I feel about this whole thing and all the negativity about Michael Jackson, I was not a fan but I watched him come from being a Black poor child to a personal who always wanted to get or to be perfect in the eyes of the people and died a rich black man that had many many issues to deal with because he did not look or feel perfect. Please let him rest. May God Bless him and May his Soul Rest in Peace. To the Jackson Family I give my condolences to you and his 3 beautiful children.

Bottom line is you do not know what another person or another race goes through in their lifetime. As common as head lice is I can truely say I never had to deal with it. I’m black and I understand that I have different traits. It would be very insensitive of me to say people who get lice are nasty. Trust me there are things alot of black folks go through that white people will never know of or even really care about. That’s way the saying it doesn’t matter where you come from, just where you are going is a true slogan.

You don’t have to be a fan of MJ to form a good or bad opinion of him, he’s had more news time than anyone since his death. Pick up a newspaper, tv news, entertainment news shows, magizines it’s all about him, 4 other ertertainers died in the past 1 1/2 wks never hear anything about them. Also I never have payed any attention to MJ over the years other than some news clip. Let’s face it we are being bombarded by MJ, can’t escape it.

Its funny because since MJ died, based on certain peoples opinions you can tell a lot about people. The people who believe the molestation accusations and the tabloid stories are fools, the people who have the audacity to compare MJ to Farrah are racists and the people who hate on MJ are just ignorant in general. That man was so giving and loving and beautiful. There are not many on this planet like him and it is a MAJOR loss. Wake up people, start with the Man in the Mirror because We Are the World and we have to power to Heal the World! You can also tell usually the haters have never even listened to his music or done any research at all on who and what this unique genious REALLY was. They just believed what the media has force fed them for 20 years now. These are very dark days we are living in indeed.

Comment by J.C. — July 5, 2009 @ 1:35 am
Okay everyone, lets get this clear. I myself was never a fan of MJ but I do admit I bought the Thriller album when I was around 12 years old. I grew up seeing this entertainer through the years and always assumed MJ would have some news, whether a new album, legal problems, or some new eccentric item he decided he should collect – such as the Elephant Man’s bones. I always reserved my first instincts to judge him upon hearing on one of the above mentioned. Why? No one really knows a person’s motives are or for what ends they are. Gathering all the data in the last week or so has lead me to a conclusion. MJ was an entertainer at a young age that eventually evolved into a very original entertainment identity – starting at the Motown 25 Anniversary show – the moonwalk and the dance moves to the tune of “Billie Jean”. His originality culminated with the Thriller album and video(Thanks MTV), but was still successfull and innovative with videos in the years to come. He became a person identifiable to just about everyone around the globe and he understood this very early on. The Thriller album holds the record for most sales of any album and if anyone should try and break that record they have to come up with some very original work and showmanship (new dance moves, extraordinary video work, and an original voice that has yet to be heard) But I do not see any potential candidates in the entertainment industry thus far. So i can clearly judge him as the FIRST black international music superstar.
For his personal life. MJ decided to donate, donate, and donate… So much so that he landed in the Guiness Book of Records. Why? He really wanted to make an impact in peoples lives – people not as fortunate as him, he must have felt guilt as he accumilated the wealth that he had at one time. I cannot say that ANY other artist today feels that much guilt for making money, They just go out and get some “Bling Bling” and some fast expensive sportscar(watch CRIBS on MTV you’ll see what I’m talking about) When he showed poor judgement was when HE decided HE was going to help children. He built Neverland, invited less fortunate children to visit and play, and ended up with some greedy parents planning out how they could get some of his millions. How do i know? The first kid whose parents filed charges on MJ got away with 20 million, that kid is now a man and resides in Los Angeles in a very expensive high rise condominium and has admitted he was pressured – forced by his parents to make those allegations against MJ. Hence MJ paid so his reputation and image wouldn’t get stained – seeing that he still wanted to make more music and sell albums. He showed poor judgement in that because NOW he DID look guilty – he learned and the following parents that filed charges against him – he decided to go to trial. The video of the kid being interviewed by the police says much – you can tell that the child was being forced into saying what he said against his idol. Verdict – Not Guilty.
I seriuosly don’t think he was a pedifile and his actions and motives were distorted by the those legal troubles. I have noticed that he would lie about things that concerned he physical persona, such as the amount of surguries he had on his nose – he said TWO. And that made it hard to believe him when he said he didn’t do anything that he was accused of…now I/we know that he was telling the truth.
Which brings me to his physical appearance. Based on the autopsy report the vitilago (a skin disorder that affects the pigmentation in the skin cells) it started on his hand – the one he wore the glove on…and thats where its first indications appeared. so now we know why he wore the glove to start with. As the vitilago worsened, he had to choose – stay black and get his whole body “sprayed” like at the tanning studio every week, or go white, which would be easier maintenance, all he had to do was go through a treatment to take off the black spots that still had the original pigmentation. His hair, it was always long, as if he had extensions, I presume extensions or a wig – the autopsy reports that he was bald on a major portion of his head – Now we know why his hair was the way it was. Noone ever knew the extent of the damage sustained to his scalp in the Pepsi commercial accident. The area where he got burned scarred him and the hair ceased growing – as a performer, he had to adapt.
His nose. The only part of his body that i believe, tortured his self acceptance, he was, at least in my opinion, never fully able to love himself. This was the source of his timidness, the source of his father’s semi-acceptance – his father always ridiculed him when he was young and that molded future behaviors that would be in the spotlight for all to see. His nose was the manefestation of how important a parent’s acceptance is, without it we feel not completely loved by them. And it dont matter if the rest of the world loves you either.
It’s a good thing MJ found the love and acceptance he so desired in his children. (whether he’s the biological father or not it dont matter) And when I mean he found the love he desired – i mean he found the love inside HIMSELF as a FATHER and gave that love to his children, the unconditional love his father never gave him, and because of this he was finally able to love and accept himself, so much that he was finally preparing his final concerts and his exit from showmanship. I wont judge MJ whether he was good or bad or all those other names i heard over the years, its irrelavant, but now that he is gone we will miss what could have been – A father teaching, guiding, correcting, and loving his children for all the media to see. The true character of a man could be seen in his fathering, of that I’m certain Michael Jackson’s children will tell us the truth once they are mature and ready. They will recount stories of the attention he gave them and how he counseled them on this and that – how he set rules also…Unconditional love is what they will be more or less trying to say he gave them. Rest in Peace MJ – The “King of Pop”

About the race thing, I’m a U.S. citizen that served in the U.S. ARMY for 7 years and in that time I had to trust the man next to me to cover me from enemy fire…that man next to me never failed me – and i did get in some heavy firefights. That man next to me was sometimes black, sometimes white, sometimes yellow, the fact of the matter is that when people fight for beliefs that are more important than the individual, race plays a small factor. As far as prisons are concerned “living in the real world” Prisons are the total opposite of unity. in prison you are in “survival mode” and the only belief a man fights for day to day is the fact that you look in the mirror and say “Hey, I’m a white man” oR “Hey i’m a black man” – enough said. rest in peace MJ

Sarah palin SHOULD be indicted for . She is just like enron and madoff, always want something for nothing even though you have everything. White america feels they are entitled to everything. So hillary and Palin for president I think not. She should be in jail. Lets do her like everyone did Michael. Guilty guilty guilty even though we dont know. Its sad that white people would actually want Palin over Obama when clearly she is a criminal. That shows the depth of predjudice and racism. You’d rather have a crook than a black man for president you racist. You should be ashamed. Michelle Obama is ten times the woman Sarah Palin is. I wonder what white america is saying now. I mean she resigned, the ultimate show of guilt. Its sad that america feels white people are so entitled that a man could steal billions of dollars and go unnoticed. If a black man stole 1 percent of that we would have been investigated and caught YEARS AND YEARS AGO. look at Mayor Bill Campbells case. They went through his info with a fine tooth comb to get him on not filing taxes because he won money at Poker. Lets see if racist white america does the same to PALIN. The only reason they got Madoff sentenced harshly is because he stole all that rich WHITE money. THE REASON BLACK PEOPLE BRING UP RACISM ALL THE TIME IS BECAUSE WE ARE DISCRIMINATED AGAINST CONSTANTLY. IT IS WHAT IT IS. AND JUST FOR THOUGHT PEOPLE. THE CHILDREN WHO ACCUSED MICHAEL OF MOLESTATION HAD THE SAME LAWYER AS TOMMY MATOLA AND SONY. SONY WAS FURIOUS AT MICHAEL IN 92 FOR NOT GIVING HIS OWNERSHIP OF THE WHITE LEGEDARY MUSIC CATALOGUES HE OWNED. THEY VOWED TO GET MICHAEL AND THE NEXT YEAR IN 93 HE IS ACCUSED OF THE MOLESTATION CHARGES AND BY “COINCIDENCE ” THE FAMILY HAS THE SAME LAWYER THAT TOMMY MATOLA HAS AFTER HE VOWED TO GET MICHAEL FOR BUYING THAT MUSIC . THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE DUH. DO RESEARCH. QUIT BELIEVING THE MEDIA. GET A CLUE FIND OUT FACTS ON YOUR OWN. MICHAEL JACKSON BOUGHT THIS MUSIC BECAUSE A LOT OF IT WAS STOLEN FROM BLACK ARTISTS LIKE LITTLE RICHARD AND GIVEN TO ARTISTS LIKE ELVIS. MICHAEL BOUGHT THE MUSIC AND PAID THE BLACK PEOPLE ROYALTIES THAT WERE RIPPED OFF BY ELVIS AND OTHER WHITE ARTISTS. THATS Y WE SCREAM RACISTS ALL THE TIME!!!! I don’t care what anyone thinks. The fact that president Obama has such a busy schedule and was able to keep Michael Jackson in his heart really shows me that he is a good man. Many presidents don’t have the time to adhear to something that is so important to the american people. You are a good man Mr. President.
Michael’s legacy will live on forever. I loved him very much. I was 10 years old when I started watching them on american band stand and their cartoon was the greatest back then. I just wish that there was something that all of us could do to further console the family. They are really hurting right now. Think about it……..if it were any of us going through the same thing right now, do you think we would get recognition from a “higher up”? What I would like to see now, is for Mr. President to do something about prescription pain killlers and to aprehend the doctors that are prescribing too many pills to people every month. Prescription pain killlers are really hard to judge. When a doctor you trust gives you so many that you could “kill yourself” in a month, I think that their licence should be revoked. This is a terrible problem in the state of florida right now. I just learned that Pinelllas county ( where I live) in the last two months the Pinelllas County Coroners office has collected over 800 bottles of prescription pain killers from those unfortunate ones that accidentally over dosed. This medicine is exremely dangerous. I know because I have terrible disc problems, fibromayalgia, and arthitis. I would go once a month get 12 shots in my back and a prescription for 180 pills of hydrocodone ( Vicodin) and 90 pills of Soma (muscle relaxer) its an incredible amount of medication. Don’t you think? I stopped taking these pills. I called my doctor and explained that I may have a problem with them and she prescribed me 120 more. I took myself off of them “cold turkey” I don’t miss them, it was hard because of the insomnia I went through but I am 40 years old and I am not going to leave my nephews an my niece and my fiance’ of 7 years behind because of something so very stupid. I love my family more than that. I have many years left to spend with them. I don’t want them to have to plan my funeral. President Obama….I am asking you please to maybe speak to Charlie Christ and see what you can do to put a stop to all of this uncontrolable prescription pain killer medication. Whether it be from doctors or people on the streets. There is no control in this state and as I understand we are the only state excluded from any laws towards this. I really do believe you are doing a wonderful job considering what you were left with. If this problem was looked into further whether you are rich and famous or just the “average Joe” Michael Jackson the King of POP would still be here today. I loved him very much and I will miss him terribly. What a shame that such a wonderful entertainer had to leave us so soon. Rest In Peace Michael. The whole world is here for you. God Bless. By the way Mr. Obama, I think it was very thoughtful of you to send a letter to the family in their time of need.

ITS SAD PEOPLE ARE SO EVIL AND IGNORANT. YOU HAVE TWO HUMAN BEINGS THAT HAVE PASSED ON TO ANOTHER PLACE. AND ONE OR MILLIONS OF OTHER HUMAN BEINGS ARE TRYING TO WISH THEIR SPIRITS TO BE BLESSED BY GOD.
SO WHY ARE SOME OF YOU STILL FEEDING THE EVIL SPIRITS WITH YOUR IGNORANCE. I THINK ITS SAD TO SEE OTHER HUMAN BEINGS WITH NO SENSE OF SELF. THAT IS THE REAL TRAGEDY.

Why is it black or white? Why not just the person them self. Each persons makes or brakes thier own destiny. There are alot of black ,white & all other color of people. who were born into poverty .Some made something of themselves. Some didn’t. Some blame others for thier shortcomings. some don’t. Once people realize we all have a choice. then we can be happy with who we are and stop blamming others. As for President Obama (perfect ex of choice) Whom he wrights to and doesn’t is his choice. But I would say it a safe bet that he contacted FF faimly too.

On June 25, 1959 in Lincoln, Nebraska; Charles Starkweather, 20 was taken out by The Electric Chair for his misdeeds for killing 11 people & to protect his princess, Caril Ann Fugate. President Eisenhower hoped that Starkweather’s demise would end the future horror shows in this country. I had a vision that the city of Lincoln, NE would end up the same way as Hiroshima, Japan on 8/6/45 on the 50th Anniversary of the demise of Charles Starkweather. However on the 50th Anniversary of the demise of Charles Starkweather, two people had there lottery numbers checked & now gone & left us legacies. Farrah Fawcett, 62; and Michael Jackson, 50. Both Farrah & Michael had plenty to offer. And they were good at there trades. So it looks like in spirit, Charles Starkweather has the last laugh on many things. After 50 years, more terrible events have come to pass from “Birmingham Sunday” to “9/11″ and North Korea’s missiles will finish off what Starkweather started in January, 1958 & the losses to two superstars, Farrah Fawcett & Michael Jackson, there demise is worse than a nuclear bomb flattening the city of Lincoln, NE anyday. 6-2 & even, over and out!

All I can say is “WOW” at the some of the evil/hate expressed in some of the above comments. In the year of our Lord and Savior, 2009. We have a long way to go, a lot of forgiving to do and a lot of love to spread. I suppose it takes all kinds to make up the world. After reading some (not all) of your comments I am going to spend my time trying to spread more love. I hope all of the “perfect” people can find it in their hearts to “forgive” those of us who are not.
Love,

I just want to say, Is the exposure of the death of MJ his fault or the media’s? I know the people who have bad things to say about him want to blame him, but let’s put it into the facts. MJ and Farrah were very private people. I don’t think anyone thinks one death is worse than another. I saw the news coverage like everyone else. And when Farrah passed it was “splashed” on all media places. Hours later when MJ died they took Farrah passing off and put MJ up everywhere. Now people let me ask you were you actually expecting this to happend to MJ, I think not. So not only was it unexpected like Farrah was, who by the way was by all accounts from her own family, was extremely private and wouldn’t want media coverage; MJ had no choice or his family, this is all about everyone being in shock and want to know “what in the hell happened”. And we won’t get into the fact of MJ accomplisment for Humanity or his many awards and that he was aquitted in court on pedophile charges. And my opinion, probably set up on them. I want the public who wants to “belittle him” to think about that. Peace and Love People.

You all are a bunch of insensative a#*wholes. If you think someone is a child molestor, please tell me why parents allow their children to visit this molestor and stay the night at their home? maybe to get money, like to accuse someone of doing something to their kid to get Jackson money??? I agree he is freaky, but it made him millions. He was found not guilty on the charges brought against him in a court of law. That’s all you should think of. This was 12 citizens that thought he was innocent. And I believe he is innocent. My heart goes out to his family and to people all over the world that liked and loved him.

michael jackson was one of god’s greatest gift to mankind so is barak obama along with others.
michael has impacted the world in the greatest way ever and it’s evident
thats why his absence is greatly felt than any other. all the bad things they say about michael
is nothing more than just accusation, people just making up things because they want money or the evil just quenching their thirst by tearing another great man down ,but i say “let the person who can prove that he did molest children come with the evidence” and if u can’t do that please lets give him the honor he deserves
may god rest his soul while we give god thanks for the life of michael jackson and all that he has contributed to the world,
let us all pray for his family who knew him more than us ,hoping that they stand firm through this moment of grief.
thank u president obama, for reaching out to the jackson family and may god give u strength while u take whats left of america out of the hole george bush has left it in.
peace and love to all from jamaica…….

Anybody calling Jackson a child molester is wallowing in rational ignorance often created by msm. Just because msm said and judged while not giving you time, resources and all info regarding that affair to make right judgement does not mean he molested those kids. Anybody who is educated enough to understand how this world works will just beg to die the next day. Nothing works and the worst thing is that most people are highly undereducated to understand in such a filthy and dirty world they are living in. Still, I blame Jackson for his woes, had he been well educated to understand that most people seek to earn their income through extraction of uncompensated value. I mean they want to get money and wealth for nothing, he would have never brought such parasites around him. Most wealth created in this world were created through extraction of uncompensated value and if you fall a fool, you will be one of those idiots whose wealth is transfered to others for nothing.
As for Obama sending letter, I am glad he did. I love Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane so much that I could not stand any other musician except Jackson. He gave me Joy and continues to do so.

It is true that he molested little boys,Why did he pay the first family off? it seems he would have faught to clear his name but no in sense micheal admitted his quilt when he paid them off knowing he was going to loose his case in court, its Fans like you that have lost their common sense, and are so fixed on his music that you are blind to the obvious.

OH poor insightfull tim, did you ever stop to think? that he paid them to try and stop the talk fast as he could. what a awful thing to be acused of.
Comment by Brenda M — July 5, 2009 @ 1:40 pm
The sad truth is, if someone hates you, whether it be because of your race, your religion, your sexual preference, whatever the reason, no amount of talking is going to change that. So there is no point in arguing with anyone on here, they do not hear you. Change, love, acceptance of others, peace, a desire to help others has to come from within, you have to want to be a better person and no amount of talking by someone else is going to change a person unless they want to change.
This post was about President Obama sending the Jackson family a letter of condolence, but has quickly turned into a race bashing, people hating, name calling, hate filled thread that has nothing to do with the subject.
I am a 52 year old white woman who grew up listening to the Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson…I do believe he was my very first crush. If I were going to write a letter of condolence, it would have been to his family. I remember Farrah, she was like the Angelina Jolie of her day, and I enjoyed watching her, but she did not touch my heart the way Michael did. I am sure there are many many others out there who feel the total opposite from me, and that is there right. If President Obama had sent her family a condolence letter (and how do we know he didn’t) and not the Jackson family, then so what, his letter would not bring either one of them back.
I just think it is so sad that people will use anything to vent their hate and unhappiness on everyone else. Two great, but very different people died, let them rest in peace and let their familes, friends, and fans mourn in peace. No amount of hate will change anything. Love on the other hand, could change many things.

You know what none of what you say even matters anymore. you can’t hurt him with hate. He is gone and only God can judge him. You will think what you want to think because you have that option but in the end you don’t get the last say so over where Micheal will spend eternity. He did a lot for this world things you are clueless of because you are not open minded. The president don’t owe you any reason as to why he wrote to the Jackson family. That’s his person lofe you don’t own his whole life as long as it doesn’t effect his job running the united states. Can your job tell you what you do in your person life if it doesn’t effect your job? NO! Get over yourselves grow up a little. be open minded and stop hating so much. we are here and you may as well get use to it. If Micheal wronged anyone and you know your bible than you know he will be judged again so until than have respeat for the died. No one really knows what happened with those Boys but God and those boys. Rest in peace Micheal this world can be unfair sometimes.

In answer to your question J.C., and to anyone else who cares, Michael Jackson never actually SLEPT in the BED with the child. He slept on the FLOOR, either in a sleeping bag or on blankets. Occasionally he might have slept with the children in bed, but that was only because the child wanted him to. But of course our minds are so damn dirty and perverted that we automatically assume that this is gross and therefore he is sexually attracted to children.
Michael Jackson never invited anyone to sleep with him. He said he had guest rooms all over the house in Neverland, but the children never wanted to sleep in them. They wanted to be with Michael. And Michael let them, because he had a kind heart and I honestly think it’s impossible for him to say no to a child. Once again, he slept on the FLOOR. Not in the bed. Alright?
I watched a lot of interviews just to answer your question, J.C. Next time, do it yourself.
God bless.

LAINE:
Has Obama sent condolences to the other performers who died last week? Probadly not. Why is everyone treating MJ like he’s some god. He’s a pervert and admits it so let’s build a statues all over the country, name a street after him and how about a national holiday. A misunderstood person, how do you misunderstand sexual child abuse.

Responding to post #165 by Craig…”I am extremely bothered that President Obama did not make a public statement to the family, friends, and many fans of Michael Jackson. As our President. I expect our President to acknowledge the suffering and sadness of the citizens of our nation, and others around the world.d..”
Craig~
How many times have you made a public statement..or private for that matter when someone you admired died? Did you for anyone in your family? Did you for any of your friends? Have you acknowledged any of the soldiers that have fought so that the bunch of you can have this venue to express yourself without being afraid of retribution? I think Obama did above and beyond what he should have done. Shame on you for thinking he should have done more. As for acknowleding the suffering and sadness of the citizens of this nation…I’m sure the majority of citizens have much greater problems that Obama is trying to find solutions for. Time to take responsibility for your own grieving and sadness. It’s a personal thing for each of us.

Come to think of…how many celebrities came forth to offer condolences to the Obama’s when his precious grandmother passed away a few days short of election day? His family was grieving then. I don’t think he really expected anything from anyone.

Tim you do make sense. butI still think that it would be so utterly humiliating that the quicker you could get those people out of you life the better. When I was in my twenties my ex acused a 15 year old girl that I had babyset our daughter who was four at the time.of molesting her. to gain custody. He even told my little girl what to say. This poor 15 year old girl life was ruined. all because my ex did not what to pay support. My daughter is now 28 she has told me since she was about 14 what her dad made her say. And has talked to her old baby setter .and apologized. That poor girl life was RUINED. Because some ass hole made up lies all over money.

People people people Micheal was found NOT GUILTY! And you don’t know if the president wrote letters to the Farrah family. It probably didn’t make the news because the media isn’t talking about her anymore. we all knew she was sick and I’m sure her family wants to move on. And if he didn’t he really didn’t have to that’s his business a lot of black and white people have passed and he don’t have to send letters to everyone it’s impossible. it could have been a personal lost to him. I’m sure he grew up listening to Micheal. RIP Mike. This world can be sooooooo cruel sometimes. God will be the judge of Mike and to all you people out there that still hate due to race. We all have to live in this world together so lte’s all try to get along.
