Moonshiner 'Popcorn' Sutton (Photos) Dies

Moonshiner 'Popcorn' Sutton dies. One of the nations most famous moonshiners, Marvin "Popcorn" Sutton, has passed away. Authorities are reportedly investigating his death as a possible suicide, according to knoxnews.com.

Coroner Terry Jarnagin said that an autopsy was to be performed Today at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.

Sutton, 61, of Parrottsville, was expected to report to federal prison soon to serve out an 18-month sentence for brewing spirits illegally and possessing a firearm as a felon.

Sutton spent the last thirty years nurturing a reputation as one of the South's top distillers of white lightning. More photos of pocorn here.
