Sakhan Dosova was born in 1879. She was discovered during a cenus in Karaganda, northern Kazakhstan, where demographers were shocked to learn she also appeared on Stalin's first census in 1926 at the age of 47.
Sakhan Dosova - a mother of ten - says she has never visited a doctor nor eaten sweets, wriets the Daily Mail. She is addicted to cottage cheese and puts her longevity down to her sense of humor.
Her date of birth is said to be March, 27 1879 as shown on her Soviet era passport and independent Kazakhstan identity card.
Sakhan was born in the same year that Stalin and Einstein were born. She was ten when Hitler was born, 38 when Lenin led the Russian Revolution, and reached retirement age, 60, the year the Second World War began.
She lives in poor conditions in an overcrowded flat with one of her granddaughters, though she is said to be in good health apart from some problems with her hearing.
Officially, the oldest living person in the world is American Edna Parker who is 114 years-old. Larger photos available at either link above.
