Bradd Pitt To Expand New Orleans Hurricane Katrina Building Project
by Staff

Brad Pitt is planning to expand his building project in Louisiana to house hundreds more New Orleans residents whose homes were demolished by Hurricane Katrina.

The 2005 disaster left thousands of people without homes when the levees broke and flood water wiped out residential areas.

Pitt has played a major role in the state's rebuilding process, with his Make it Right Foundation providing funding for a number of re-housing schemes.

The movie star is on track to meet his goal of building 100 homes for displaced residents by the end of 2009; and the program is going so well, Pitt insists he won't stop there.

He says, "It's exceeding my expectations. But it's really, it's hundreds, thousands of people that made it happen. One hundred and fifty (houses) is our goal. We'll have 100 by the end of the year. So next year, we'll have 150. But I'm hoping we can expand that, because the machine works." (c) WENN
