Rockers Bright Eyes To Retire After One More Album? Conor Oberst Hints
by Staff

Rockers Bright Eyes will split after one more album, the band's record label boss has revealed.

Frontman Conor Oberst has been spending most of his time working with new folk rock supergroup Monsters of Folk and recently hinted he planned to retire Bright Eyes.

He told Rolling Stone, "It does feel like it needs to stop at some point. I'd like to clean it up, lock the door, say goodbye."

Rob Nansel, the president of the band's label Saddle Creek, confirms to Nebraska newspaper Omaha World-Herald, "I think he feels like Bright Eyes has a certain association, for better or worse. I think he's trying to distance himself a little bit from what that means to people."

A final album, the band's ninth, is expected to be released in 2010.

Monsters of Folk's debut record is due in shops this autumn (09). (c) WENN
