With her husband, former President Bush by her side, the two smiled and talked with King like he was an old family friend.
With a naughty twinkle in her eye, Bush, 85, told King in the interview set to air tonight (11.22.10) that she had sat next to Sarah Palin once: "I thought she was beautiful and I think she's very happy in Alaska - and I hope she'll stay there."
Her husband smiled while Larry let loose a little laugh over the Sarah crack, but the preview clip was cut at that point (purportedly to get you to watch the full interview.)
They both loved their son's book: George W. Bush 'Decision Points' became an instant bestseller, and Mrs. Bush said she was proud of him while dad joked that it should have sold a lot of copies, as much as his son was out there trying to sell it!
Sarah Palin, a possible 2012 candidate for the office of President, has her own book set for release this week, "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag."
Former first lady Barbara Bush had some words of advice for Tea Party darling Sarah Palin -- Bush hopes Palin stays in Alaska.
In an interview with CNN's Larry King set to air Monday, Bush, 85, said, ""I sat next to her once, thought she was beautiful. And I think she's very happy in Alaska -- and I hope she'll stay there," The Washington Post reported.
In the same interview, her husband, President George H.W. Bush, 86, said he is "confused" by the Tea Party, and he doesn't "know what it really is." But, he conceded, "some of [their] ideas make a lot of sense," the Post reported.
