The Search for Madeleine McCann has been ongoing since she disappeared on May 3rd. Previously, JK Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series, had pledged monetary assistance, and now she is ready to assist again.
Madeleine McCann was three-years-old when she vanished from a hotel in Portugal. She is now four-years-old and although her parents Gerry and Kate McCann have worked around the clock to keep her profile high and have even stayed in Portugal while the police continue to search, she remains missing.
Gerry and Kate McCann are confident that little Madeleine is still alive and both they and police believe the child is still in Portugal.
Support and assistance to help find Madeleine have come from many people. In addition to JK Rowling, other celebrities have reached in their pockets to help, such as Simon Cowell, Victoria and David Beckham and Richard Branson of the Virgin Group. In addition, ordinary people have taken their time, sometimes while on vacation, to assist in the search for little Madeleine.
JK Rowling's newest assistance will come from using the worldwide appeal of her boy wizard. Posters of Madeleine will be available to bookstores in more than 200 countries throughout the world.
In addition, Rowling isn't stopping there...as she will personally request that the bookstores display the poster around July 21st, which is the publication date of the final book in the best-selling series.
Rowling said yesterday, "I feverently hope that posters displayed prominently in shops all over the world when the new book comes out will help find Madeleine McCann and will help raise the profile of the many other missing children in different countries."
The posters will have three different pictures of Madeleine, with the message: "If you have seen me, please contact your local police agency!"
In addition, the poster will contain the website address for the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
Gerry and Kate McCann are said to be delighted about the poster appeal.
