Airport Weather Delays, Closings Due to Massive Midwest Winter Storm
by Jim Brogan

Due to the massive winter storm sweeping across the Midwest this morning, from Texas to Chicago and the northeast, the Dallas Fort Worth DFW Airport has closed down completely. The Houston Bush-Intercontinental Airport has also been experiencing delays.

DFW Spokesman David Magana has said in a statement that one runway has reopened after the temporary closure of the entire airport. Crews are working diligently to clear the ice from the other runways. The Associated Press adds that the airport, the eighth largest in the world, experienced hundreds of incoming flight cancellations due to the massive winter storm sweeping much of the country.

The Houston Hobby is also experiencing delays, according to the FAA.

Additionally, it is being reported that approximately 20,000 electricity customers had already lost power in Texas Tuesday morning. Nearly half of the outages are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
