The first character images from the forthcoming fairytale film Snow White And The Huntsman are out, and many people are questioning not only Kristen Stewart's outfit - but the meaning of her shield, as well.
Producers debuted the first photos of Stewart, as an armored, sword-wielding Snow White at Comic-Con in San Diego, California during a panel discussion with co-stars Chris Hemsworth (The Huntsman) and Sam Claflin (Prince Charming).
One of the main questions among folklore and tale nuts - is what's with the 'White Tree of Gondor" on Kristen's shield?
According to Wiki, in J. R. R. Tolkien's high fantasy universe of Middle-earth, the White Tree of Gondor stood as a symbol of Gondor in the Court of the Fountain in Minas Tirith. The White Tree also appears as a motif upon Gondor's flag and throughout its heraldry combined with the seven stars of the House of Elendil and the crown of the King.
So what's it doing on Snow White's shield? We have no idea. But isn't that only one of the many things wrong with this picture?
