Kurt Cobain Dead At 27: Suicide Note
by Staff

Legendary musician Kurt Cobain died on April 5, 1994. Cobain was 27-years-old when he died.

Cobain's body was discovered at his Lake Washington home by an electrician on April 8, 1994. The electrician was there to install a security system. The man who found Cobain reported that he saw no visible signs of trauma and initially believed that Cobain was asleep. However upon closer inspection, he found a loaded shotgun pointed at Cobain's chin and some blood coming out of Cobain's ear.

An autopsy showed that Cobain had a high concentration of heroin and traces of Valium in his body. The coroner's report said that Cobain had been dead since April 5, 1994.

A public vigil was held for Cobain on April 10, 1994, at a park at Seattle Center drawing approximately seven thousand mourners.[87] Prerecorded messages by Krist Novoselic and Courtney Love were played at the memorial. Love read portions of Cobain's suicide note to the crowd, crying and chastising Cobain. Near the end of the vigil, Love arrived at the park and distributed some of Cobain's clothing to those who still remained. (c) tPC
