Rock band Aerosmith announced plans Monday for a North American summer concert tour.
The series of shows is to start June 16 in Minneapolis, Minn. The band will play 18 markets before wrapping up Aug. 8 in Tacoma, Wash., said Live Nation, which is promoting The Global Warming Tour.
Cheap Trick will open for the group.
"The old Aerosmith is back with a new vengeance and we will kick your ass and make out with yur mothers," Aerosmith front man and "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler said in a statement.
Guitarist Joe Perry said: "Can't wait to bring this band back home. It feels like we've been away too long."
The Boston-based band celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2010. Aerosmith toured Japan and South America last year. (c) UPI
