Google Project Glass Debut VIDEO Demonstration: Augmented Reality

Google has unveiled plans for their new 'augmented reality' glasses, called "Project Glass." The current design is simply a horizontal frame with a small clear display on the right side.

Developers Babak Parviz, Steve Lee and Sebastian Thrun said, "A group of us from Google[x] started Project Glass to build this kind of technology, one that helps you explore and share your world, putting you back in the moment.

We took a few design photos to show what this technology could look like and created a video to demonstrate what it might enable you to do."

The promotional video released by Google shows the glasses' ability to show information. Some of the functions shown were: displaying the weather, reporting subway service outages, and checking messages. The most interesting feature is the ability to "view share", which lets you call a friend and let them see what you see. Read more here (c) tPC
