Video, Photos Of Mr. Green Genes: Glow-in-the Dark Cat
by Jack Ryan

Mr. Green Genes is the world's first glow-in-the dark cat. The cloned kitten shines in the dark when
he walks under ultraviolet lights.

Mr. Green Genes looks like a normal orange tabby by day, but he turns a ghoulish shade of fluorescent green by night.

The glow-in-the-dark feline is the direct result of a genetic experiment. Mr. Green Genes was cloned at the Audubon Nature Institute in New Orleans to help endangered species ... and down the line, human beings as well.

This isn't the first time. Last year, scientists in South Korea succeeded in cloning cats with a special red fluorescence protein (RFP) to make them illuminate.

The darling cloned Turkish Angora kittens with manipulated RFP glow when put under ultraviolet light. Scientists say this 'glow', has the potential to help develop treatments for diseases. That video here.
