Social Security's bullets explained. Why is the agency that provides benefits to retirees, disabled workers, widows and children stockpiling ammunition? And just whom do they intend to use them on?
Well on Thursday, the Social Security Administration clarified (kind-of) why it was seeking to purchase 174,000 hollow point bullets in a blog post, saying that the agency employs “special agents” with “full law enforcement authority.”
TheBlaze was the first to report that the SSA had posted a “Request for Quote for Ammunition” on the FedBizOps.gov website earlier this month. The solicitation asked for 174,000 .357 Sig 125 grain bonded jacketed hollow point bullets.
