Growing numbers of Somali civilians are being violently attacked by Ethiopian troops and other groups, an Amnesty International report said.
Violence against Somali civilians is being carried out by a complex combination of aggressors, including Ethiopian and Transitional Federal Government soldiers and other armed fighters, the human rights organization said in a release.
The people of Somalia are being killed, raped, tortured; looting is widespread and entire neighborhoods are being destroyed, said Michelle Kagari, deputy director of Amnesty International's Africa Program.
Witnesses said Ethiopian soldiers are killing growing numbers of people and slaughtering them like goats.
This report represents the voices of ordinary Somalis, and their plea to the international community to take action to end the attacks against them, including those committed by internationally-supported TFG and Ethiopian forces, Kagari said. (c) UPI
