Callista Gingrich's hair is not a plastic helmet, and no, it's not painted on her head, no matter what it appears like. The inquisitr explains with video and photos.
But I digress.
Documents released Tuesday indicate the relationship between the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corp. and Gingrich said "nothing herein is or shall be construed as an agreement to provide lobbying services of any kind or engage in lobbying activities," The Washington Post reported.
The just-released documents seem to back Gingrich's statements that he was not employed as a lobbyist and didn't engage in formal lobbying activities on behalf of Freddie Mac, a government-backed company criticized by conservatives for its underwriting policies before the housing crisis.
The contract, signed in July 1999, and a 2006 agreement released earlier this week, also show that Gingrich's firm, the Gingrich Group, reported directly to Freddie Mac's public policy and lobbying office.
The former House speaker has come under withering attacks by GOP rival Mitt Romney, who accused Gingrich of "influence peddling."
Gingrich has pulled ahead of Romney in at least one national poll and has opened up a lead in Florida, which has its primary Tuesday. The Georgia Republican bested the former Massachusetts governor Saturday in South Carolina's Republican primary. (c) UPI
