Country superstar Keith Urban has recently revealed all about his secret past bouts with cocaine and alcohol in a new interview.
The Country superstar's hellish drug past might shock his girlfriend, sexy redheaded beauty and actress, Nicole Kidman.
The Australian singer, who has been reportedly dating the sultry actress was crowned country music's Entertainer of the Year at the Country Music Association Awards in New York last week, and is currently on top of the world - a far cry from his days as a struggling entertainer in Nashville, Tennessee.
The singer recently confessed that he was 'brought to his knees' by his addiction to cocaine as he battled loneliness and rejection in his desire to be famous.
"I remember one night crawling on my hands and knees, looking for these little rocks [cocaine] at five in the morning. It was the worst," he says, according to the National Enquirer.
"You know you have to stop and you can't You look at yourself in the mirror and say, 'Who are you and how the hell did you let this happen to yourself?'"
Friends of the 38-year-old Aussie say he was also hooked on booze and is known locally as Nashville's country Casanova, who reportedly 'left a trail of broken hearts in his wake,' according to the Enquirer..
"Keith calls himself a work in progress," a close friend tells the magazine. "The question is if he can keep on the straight and narrow for Nicole's sake. But I think the real trouble will come when Nicole is not around and he's left to his own devices."
Urban insists he has been clean since his career took off in 2000, but always fears he might slip back into his old habits: "I don't know that you ever beat it. It's a struggle for me, because I hate the straight road, too... I find it very monotonous and boring."
Urban was named Entertainer Of The Year at the CMA Awards on November 15. His meteoric ride to the top has brought him fame, money and the woman of his dreams in Oscar-winner Nicole.
