Jessica Simpson Hires Powerhouse Divorce Attorneys
by Mike Baron
Dec 8, 2005

After breaking up with her husband, Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson was, as one of her friends describes it, "on an emotional roller coaster."

The former Newlyweds stars have had their share of ups and downs. And now, late at night while staying at her parents' home, Jessica reportedly lies awake knowing that deep in her heart she'll always love Nick - whether or not they find their way back into one another's arms.

TMZ.com reports that Jessica Simpson has retained celebrity powerhouse divorce lawyers Robert Kaufman and Lance Spiegel. Nick Lachey has countered with lawyer Laura Wasser.

All three lawyers have represented a stable of stars. Most recently, Kaufman represented Jennifer Aniston in her divorce with Brad Pitt, Roseanne and Lisa Marie Presley in her divorce from Michael Jackson.

Nick has reportedly decided that he will not file for divorce, according to the report; instead he will allow Jessica to make that first move.

Jessica Turns To The Pen

Buxom pop beauty Jessica Simpson said recently that the only way for her to prevent herself from bursting from stress is to write her feelings down.

According to contactmusic.com, Simpson has warned against bottling up problems and advises people to follow her example by writing them down.

The singer/actress says, "It's a way for me to know myself and my problems. If I don't do this, I'll push everything back until I explode.  If this method isn't successful, Simpson says she's gone another way to sort through her issues and hopes others are as fortunate as her.

"Sometimes it helps to talk about my feelings with friends," she added.
