'Meet The Press' Future To Be Decided Soon
by Staff

The president of NBC News said a decision on who will replace the late Tim Russert as Meet the Press moderator should be made in November or early December.

Russert died in June of a heart attack at the age of 58. Tom Brokaw has been filling in until a permanent moderator is named.

The New York Times said that, other than revealing the time frame for the decision to replace Russert, NBC News President Steve Capus did not offer any details about the network's plans.

However, the newspaper cited an unnamed source who said NBC is considering using revolving hosts, including NBC political director Chuck Todd and MSNBC anchor David Gregory, to moderate the public-affairs chat show. (c) UPI
