Famous Birthplaces: Wizard of Omaha Warren Buffett, Berkshire Hathaway CEO
by Jack Ryan

If it's true that you can tell a lot about a person by where they were born or grew up, then these rich and famous people should add a little spice to the mix.

If you've ever wondered where your favorite star was born, perhaps it was through their slight accent, or a phrase or gesture, that you caught onto the secret of their birthplace.

No matter how hard some of them have tried to change the way they speak through speech lessons, it is possible to pick up an accent. For others, however, the way they talk or act is completely fine with them - and by their actions alone, some rich and famous people are easily figured out.

Known as one of the richest men in the world, Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett, for example, has several other nicknames - including Wizard of Omaha, Oracle of Omaha, and Sage of Omaha - from the city where he was born. So you can probably guess Buffett was born in Omaha, Nebraska - birthdate: August 30, 1930.

He was ranked as the world's wealthiest person in 2008 and is the third wealthiest person in the world as of 2011. Buffett is also a notable philanthropist, having pledged to give away 99 percent of his fortune to philanthropic causes, primarily via the Gates Foundation.
