Natalie Portman has split from boyfriend Devendra Banhart, according to U.S reports.

The odd couple met and fell in love while the actress was shooting a video for the the musician's Carmensita tune in March (08).

Portman and Banhart dated through the summer (08) but friends claim the couple became too close too quickly.

A source tells In Touch magazine, "Natalie and Devendra will remain friends but need some space and time away (from each other)." (c) WENN
