Kylie Minogue's Charity Appeal
by Staff

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue has pledged her support for a campaign to raise vital funds for abused children.

The Spinning Around hitmaker has backed the drive to raise a massive $93 million (£50 million) for the British charities ChildLine and the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (nspcc).

The two organisations need the cash to extend their phone helpline services, which provide trained counsellors for vulnerable kids to talk to.

A shortage of funds means that for every youngster calling the charities for help, another cannot get through to an adviser.

Minogue tells British newspaper The Sun, "Finding the courage to tell someone about being abused is one of the most difficult decisions a child will ever have to make.

"Sadly their cries for help are not always heard because ChildLine is unable to speak to every child who rings the 0800 1111 number. We can all help to change that by supporting the Nspcc's Child's
Voice Appeal and make sure those children no longer face their troubles alone." (c) WENN
