As she works her way through the onset of labor and the inevitable birth of her first natural child, Angelina Jolie is practicing a daily yoga regimen to help her encourage the onset of labor and an easier birth. This primarily mental preparation goes on throughout the entire birth process, and Jolie being in labor is now in full lotus mode.
Lifestyle Weekly spoke with Jolie's personal yoga guide, Maryam Askari, whom Jolie met in Paris. Says the instructor of her famous client, who according to reports is currently in labor in Namibia, the actress got into yoga when she was taking pre-natal classes with adopted son Maddox, 3.
"She loves to do yoga with Maddox," reveals the secret Angelina Jolie's yoga instructor, Maryam Askari. Maddox had fun jumping around the room, while Angelina does pregnancy poses while I support her belly," Askari told the mag.
As for Papa Pitt, there's little interest in the art of fitness through yoga. "He's more of a weight-lifting kind of guy," says Askari.
According to published reports, the actress went into labor over the weekend. Jolie's routine as a practicing yoga devotee would include specific yoga positions and movement that allegedly decrease birth complications, and encourage the baby to align itself into the pelvis for labour to start and proceed smoothly.
