Singer Beyonce Knowles is pregnant with her first child!

Rapper Jay Z and his hip-hop/pop singer wife Beyonce are apparently expecting a child - and Beyonce was candid to show off her growing baby bump to photographers at the VMAs. Shockingly enough, the singer really is pregnant, despite all the false rumors over the years of a baby on the way.

The couple, married with no children, have been busy with their music careers in recent months - Beyonce's new album '4' and Jay Z's collaboration with Kanye West - but it seems the couple is keen to put their careers on the back-burner in order to raise a child.

The 29-year-old, who married rapper Jay-Z on September 4, 2008 in New York, clutched her visible bump at the VMAs and told the press: “I have a surprise!” The LA Times reports.

Following her performance of "Love on Top," Beyonce told the crowd, “I want you to feel the love that’s growing inside me.” She then unbuttoned her coat and rubbed her belly.
