Michael Jackson died at the age of 50.

Organizers of the Michael Jackson tribute show have refused to bow to pressure from angry fan club bosses to cancel the concert, insisting they are "100 per cent going ahead" with the gig.

Earlier this week, outraged fan club officials urged the late pop star's mother, Katherine, and other organizers to axe the event, which is scheduled to take place in Wales in October, claiming it is "doomed to fail".

They are upset about the timing of the concert - due to take place during Jackson physician Dr. Conrad Murray's manslaughter trial - and the addition of rockers KISS, who were later pulled from the line-up due to comments Gene Simmons made about the Thriller hitmaker last year.

But despite the furore, music bosses are refusing to axe the tribute show, which will feature performances from stars including Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green and Beyonce.

Juliette Harris, a spokeswoman for Global Events Live, tells Reuters, "We are 100 per cent going ahead. We will continue to announce names for the line-up. We are moving forward and now we will try to address issues that have been raised by fans."

Harris also reveals she has invited upset fans to air their concerns in a conference call to event chiefs on Tuesday.
