Lifetime Television's watercooler series "Army Wives" has smashed through the competition on both broadcast and basic cable Sunday night. Part of the success has to be sexy actress Kim Delaney.

Kim Delaney plays a commander's spouse overseeing other waiting women (and men) in this soaper.

Filmed on location in Charleston, S.C., "Army Wives" stars Kim Delaney, Sally Pressman, Brigid Brannagh, Brian McNamara, Sterling K. Brown, Wendy Davis, Drew Fuller and Catherine Bell.

The series is based on the book Under the Sabers: The Unwritten Code of Army Wives by Tanya Biank, who serves as a consultant.

"Army Wives" is produced by ABC Studios.
