Jeremiah Wright is the the 'Reverend' best known for making headlines as Barack Obama's controversial former pastor. Well, the Rev is making headlines again yet again.

According to reports, Elizabeth Payne, 37, says she had a sexual relationship with the 67-year-old pastor.

"I was involved with Rev. Wright, and that's why I lost my job and why my husband divorced me," Payne was quoted saying in Tuesday's New York Post newspaper.

According to the Post, Payne became involved with Wright when she was working as an executive assistant at a Dallas church.

"I was involved with Rev. Wright, and that's why I lost my job and why my husband divorced me," Payne said.

Payne so far has declined to give details, although she admits that the members of Friendship-West Baptist Church discovered the affair last spring. The leader of the church is reportedly a protege of Rev. Wright's named Rev. Frederick Haynes III.

Payne's roll was primarily to organize public appearances for Wright during April of 2008 - only weeks after Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama publicly denounced Wright for some of the more inflammatory public statements made by the fire and brimstone preacher.

"Liz was by Rev. Wright's side day and night during those days," a church source goes on to say.

According to Payne's estranged husband, Fred Payne, 64, Wright e-mailed Elizabeth Payne and told her he was going to leave his wife, Ramah, for her, reports FOX news.

Fred Payne said members of the church, including Haynes, would not be pleased about the fact that it was an interracial relationship.

"People wouldn't be happy to know that my wife was sleeping with a black man," he said.

Payne has reportedly filed a wrongful-dismissal claim with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in order to be reinstated at her job.
