According to a Newsbusters report, the Obama campaign is thrilled that the stock market dropped over 500 points on Monday and they had reportedly wished for the worst. That isn't funny.
What also isn't funny is the Oprah boycott that is planned. No, these Florida GOP Women are serious.
Cindy Graves is the vice president of a Republican group of women who are not happy with Oprah Winfrey's refusal to have Sarah Palin on her show. Is an Oprah boycott of Sarah Palin wise?
A Republican group of women, and apparent Oprah fans, have banned Oprah's show after finding out the talk show queen refused to have Palin on her show until "after the elections".
Oprah, who publicly endorsed Sen. Barack Obama during his campaign and featured him on her show at least twice, refuses to have Palin on until after the elections have been completed.
Oprah recently said, however, "I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."
This is what some call a escape-goat. Suddenly now, Oprah doesn't want any candidates on her show - but it was all good before.
Cindy Graves says Palin "is an icon, and set her herself up to be such a women's rights and women's issues person. To have the first vice president of our lifetime on the Republican ticket being a woman and to sit it out regardless of what her personal political beliefs were was disingenuous, we felt."
Some think that if Oprah has Palin on her show, it will compromise Obama's voter-base. She may be afraid that Palin will go on the show - and charm the audience.
