Cadbury Chocolate Recall - Poisoned Purposely By Chinese Milk Companies?
by Mitch Marconi

I don't know about you, but I'm glad as heck it isn't Easter. Being a big fan of the Cadbury Egg, I routinely suck down a couple of those delicious eggs in my greedy mouth. But lo and behold, Cadbury is facing a big recall for being contaminated with melamine. Egad!

Cadbury is facing a recall of 11 of it's candy products that are made in China. It seems that China is getting less and less trustworthy as things that are being made there are continuously found to be contaminated. First it was the lead-paint toys from China that our children were playing with, now we have to worry about eating a piece of candy

Apparently the milk chocolate and dark chocolate variety with hazelnut praline are the candies with deepest suspect. Cadbury is a British company, who has some of their candy made in China.

Cadbury doesn't seem to be of much blame in this melamine mess, a corrupt group of milk producers in China are the ones of suspect. This is not the first time melamine has showed up to make more than 53,000 other people sick according to Associatedcontent.com, it has shown up in powdered infant formula and other various products. Some countries have even banned milk products from China because of the melamine problem.

There is an investigation of the use of melamine was on purpose or an accident. According to Wikipedia, "Melamine may have been added to fool government quality tests after water was added to fraudulently increase the milk's volume, since melamine will cause a false increase in the measurement of protein by increasing the nitrogen levels in the milk. Officials estimate that about 20 percent of the dairy companies tested in China sell products tainted with melamine."

What exactly is Melamine used for? According to Wisegeek.com, "Uses for melamine include whiteboards, floor tiles, kitchenware, fire retardant fabrics, and commercial filters. Melamine can be easily molded while warm, but will set into a fixed form."

All I know is, if those Cadbury Eggs are being produced in china, I won't be buying. (c) tPC
