David Fioravanti "Biggest Loser" Charged With Fraud
by Mitch Marconi

The "Biggest Loser" David Fioravanti has attended court for charges of five counts of insurance fraud, larceny over $250, attempted larceny over $250, false statements on vehicle registration, and two counts of insurance fraud according to reports.

Fioravanti apparently purchased from Chubb Insrance Co. and insurance policy in May 02' to insure jewelry worth $63,000. He then reported that someone had broken into his apartment and stole the jewelry. so Chubb insurance paid the $63,000 claim but investigators discovered that in December 03' purchased another insurance policy for the same jewelry with Vermont Mutual. When realzing that Chubb Insurance Co. already pay the large sum of money, Vermont Mutual canceled the policy. Fioravanti went even a step further in October 04' by purchasing another insurance policy for the jewelry with OneBeacon.

Among the other charges Fioravanti attempted to register his car in Marshfield, Massachusetts where his mother lives, instead of Boston where he currently lived. He did it to seek lower insurance premiums. Funny enough, Fioravanti who won $100,000 in 2004 for the first season of NBC's "The Biggest Loser", seems to always lose his jewelry and forgets where he lives. Either that, or the guy is one "Big Loser". (c) tPC
