Toyota Motors said on Tuesday that a recall is in effect for 3.8 million Toyota and Lexus vehicles. According to reports, the recall involves a safety issue that causes the car's floor mat getting into the floor accelerator.
Toyota Motors and the National Traffic Safety Administration has asked all motorists to come immediately to shops to care for the safety matter. Such a matter could result in death.
Records show that this is by far the largest recall in Toyota's history. Apparently the recall stems from a crash last month in San Diego. Apparently the floor mat was snagging the gas pedal on a Lexus. The driver called the police to say the car had no brakes and the accelerator was stuck. No sooner than a minute later a horrific crash killed four family members. The vehicle was a loaner from the dealer while the vehicle was being repaired. The vehicle was doing more than 120 mph when it hit another vehicle and rolled away blowing up.
The number of complaints and the cost of the fix has not yet been reported. List of affected cars:
2007-2010 Camry
2005-2010 Avalon
2004-2009 Prius
2005-2010 Tacoma
2007-2010 Tundra
2007-2010 Lexus ES 350
2006-2010 Lexus IS 250 and IS350 (c) tPC
