A beautiful, 19-year-old folk singer has died after she was attacked by two coyotes during a hike in Canada.
Taylor Mitchell, who was hiking alone in the Cape Breton Highlands National Park in Nova Scotia, has been killed by two "extremely aggressive" coyotes.
According to police, hikers also travelling the national park called park rangers after they heard Taylor's screams. The rangers arrived to find Taylor critically wounded with two coyotes standing over her.
Rangers managed to shoot one of the coyotes, but are still looking for the other.
Taylor was immediately airlifted to a nearby hospital, but tragically died as a result of her wounds.
Royal Canadian Mounted Police spokeswoman Brigit Leger says coyote attacks are rare: "Coyotes are normally afraid of humans. This is a very irregular occurrence."
Taylor Mitchell's debut album, 'For Your Consideration', debuted earlier this year.
