Brandon Spikes was accused of eye-gouging his opponent in the Florida Gators and Georgia Bulldogs game. It looks like he was caught red-handed if you ask Bulldog fans and some sports commentators alike. Spikes is the Gators linebacker and a defensive captain.
According to the Miami Herald, "The incident occurred during a pile-up, and though Spikes was not flagged for the behavior, strong video evidence showed Spikes shoving his hand into Ealey's facemask. On Sunday during his weekly post-game conference call, Meyer indicated that he was unaware of the eye-gouging..."
The Gators won 41-17 and despite that, there was a lot of anger and competition during the game.
Brandon Spikes has been issued a penalty that some are calling a joke and others think is a proper punishment. Spikes is to miss the first half of the Gators game against Vanderbilt. (c) tPC
