Chicago looks to be trying to save money up anywhere it can. According to reports, the city of Chicago is trying to skinny up its spending by trimming it's Christmas tree.
Much like parents have to do when they don't have a lot of money for Christmas, Chicago is taking its 90-foot-long tree and downsizing it. Believe it or not, the tree is made up 113 smaller trees normally! Chicago is taking the route that sometimes bigger isn't always better.
According to the AP, "This year, the Office of Special Events says Chicago has downsized its plans. The tree that will go up in Daley Plaza will be a single tree, and the 56-foot blue spruce was donated by a Palos Heights family."
Apparently the usual tree costs in the low six figures according to reports. They are apparently hoping to halve the cost this year. (c) tPC
