Wanda Sykes and George Lopez are both getting their own talk shows in the next week. On Saturday, Syke's is starting her weekly Fox show "The Wanda Skyes Show" and George Lopez's show will be called "Lopez Tonight" and will broadcast on TBS.
Sykes said she promises her show will be a mix of serious conversations and lighthearted comedy. She's wants to go into politics, culture, and world news. Along with that, she will have many guests and will have what looks to be complete freedom on the show.
George Lopez's show "Lopez Tonight" is a very different style where Lopez is hoping to bring a more hip crowd to late night television. The show is to be something more in the tradition of "The Arsenio Hall Show".
It's been done before, but it should be interesting to see if "Lopez" can pull it off. This certainly brings some new faces to late night television. It should be interesting if they can siphon off of Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, and David Letterman and add in their own crowd.
Wanda Sykes was also the voice of Stella the skunk in "Over the Hedge" (c) tPC
