The 'Failure to Launch' actor's vehicle, a '71 Chevy Corvette Stingray, was posted on internet auction site eBay on Monday (17.07.06).

The starting bid of $7,500 had already reached $42,000 by yesterday (19.07.06).

McConaughey, who was voted People magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' last year, added: "The music is in listening to the engine. For me it's the quintessential, bare bones, badass American sports car."

Bidding will close next Thursday (27.07.06) with all proceeds going to Oprah's Angel Network.
