Missy Elliott Graves Disease; Hair Loss, Lumps In Throat, Radiation Treatments

Missy Elliot revealed in a interview in 2011 that she has Graves' Disease. The disease is an incurable autoimmune condition that affects the thyroid.

Elliot received radiation treatment to stop dizzy spells and large lumps in her throat. She told People Magazine, "You live with it for the rest of your life.

Other side-effects Elliot noted was mood swings, hair loss, and bulging eyes.

Missy said her disease isn't fatal thankfully. She's doing better than ever. "My thyroid is functioning, so I haven't had to take medication in about nine months."
