Celebrity tax evaders; Kelis taxes $300,000. Kelis is reportedly in trouble with the IRS, after failing to pay over $300,000 in taxes.

TMZ reports that a tax lien filed in New York states that the 'Milkshake' singer owes $330,426 (£210,910) to the government for skipping tax filing in 2004 and 2010.

Lauryn Hill taxes

R&B star Lauryn Hill has pleaded guilty to failing to file her tax returns from 2005 to 2007.

Prosecutors in New Jersey filed three counts against the Doo Wop (That Thing) hitmaker earlier this month amid allegations she owed more than $1.6 million in back taxes.

Hill recently addressed the claims, insisting she needed the funds to “sustain” her family during a “period of crisis”, but the former Fugees singer appeared in court to face the charges, admitting she “intentionally and willingly” neglected to file her financial papers, according to TMZ.com.

If convicted, Hill faces up to three years in jail and a $75,000 fine.
She was released on bail and is due to be sentenced in November.

Nas $339,000 taxes

It’s been reported that rapper, Nas owes over $6 million in taxes. A lien was actually placed on Nas’s property for $339,000 for taxes owed on 2010. When this happened, it came to light that the rapper owed more than $6 million in taxes from past years.
