By Mike Baron
Jul 14, 2006
Chris Martin, lead singer of the band Coldplay, has reportedly insulted Vice President Dick Cheney at a recent press conference in Hong Kong, reports UPI.
TMZ.com reports that the 29-year-old singer took the verbal shot at Cheney while he was answering questions about the possiblitiy of Coldplay disbanding.
"You know, if you don't like (the music), just listen to something else," said Martin. "We'd much rather have a fight with Dick Cheney, you know -- people who really do things that we consider to be bad."
Martin's political comment may certainly have shocked those at the press conference, but his answers to questions about the new Coldplay album, and the possibility of a breakup, may have also shocked the band's fans.
TMZ writes: 'Martin seemed to dominate the presser and admitted it could be a while until the world gets new music from the ban
"We won't do another album until we think we've written the best songs in history, and that could take a while," Martin said. "So we could be waiting, 20 years or 50 years. Who knows? Our next record seems like a long way away."'
