Marriage proposals gone wrong (PHOTOS); Roy Williams gets ring back. Dallas Cowboys receiver Roy Williams filed and won a lawsuit after a mail-in marriage proposal was rejected in February, saying he wants the ring back.

Williams' suit sought the return of a $76,600 engagement ring he sent with his proposal to former beauty pageant winner Brooke Daniels, the Odessa American reported Wednesday.

When Daniels declined the proposal, she did not return the ring, claiming six weeks later she had lost it, the newspaper said.

Williams reported the loss to his insurance company, which investigated and found that Daniels' father, Michael Daniels, was in possession of the ring.

Daniels, the former Miss Texas USA who dated Williams for a year, returned the ring. The hand-off of the ring was overseen by Williams’ lawyer. Go here for photos of Daniels. (c) tPC (c) UPI
