UConn Student Alleges Abuse By Player
by Staff

A University of Connecticut student alleged in a court document that basketball player Nate Miles assaulted her.

A court affidavit obtained Wednesday by the Hartford (Conn.) Courant said the 19-year-old woman contended that Miles got rough with her while demanding sex shortly after they began dating last month.

Specifically, Miles was accused of slapping and pushing the female student, who wrote that he was also becoming extremely possessive, wanting to know where I was and told me he didn't want me seeing other men.

The affidavit was used to obtain a restraining order later in the month, which Miles was charged with violating by allegedly calling her on the same day it was issued.

Miles, 20, of Toledo, Ohio, was in Rockville Superior Court Tuesday to answer the charge. The case was continued until Nov. 25 and Miles will undergo counseling, the Courant said.

UConn's basketball program has had no official comment, but Miles will appear before a university board on Thursday. (c) UPI
