NFL Fantasy 2016 Week 1 Survivor Pool Pick'em Best Bets, Sleeper
by MC

While DFS and traditional fantasy football leagues rule the roost during the NFL season, there are still many who play some form of Survivor pool.

If you are not familiar with an NFL football Survivor pool, you pick one team each week to win the game. Some include the spread and some do not.  If you get it right, you move on to the next week.  If you get it wrong, you're eliminated (although some variations offer you a second chance).

And the aforementioned Survivor pool will be thinned out substantially after Week One of the 2016 NFL season comes to a close late Monday night.

Wanna advance to week two in your suicide pool? Take the Seahawks or the Chiefs.

Oh, I can hear the groans. Do I really want to use our Seahawks or Chiefs pick in the kickoff week?

The answer is an unequivocal and resounding yes.

11 out of the 16 games carry point spreads of four or less. Just one line is higher than a touchdown -- and that is Seattle at 10.5 over Miami.

With the uncertainty of game one, no other week approaches the probability of a favorite winning more than this one. The Dolphins road trip to Jet City is the longest of any visitor all season. The Seahawks' home-field advantage is nearly as good as the Chiefs at Arrowhead.

Many people will be loathe to use a powerhouse pick like Seattle in Week 1; And if you do, make sure it's the Chiefs against a lowly San Diego team. Many people will pay the price for not picking one of the only "sure things" in week one.

If you want a sleeper pick, take the Jets over the Bengals. Cincinnati has never been a particularly good road team and New York needs this game early in their brutal schedule.
