Al Gore would be proud...a puppy has gone green! Well, not exactly. A puppy has been born different from most other canines - the pup's coat is literally green!

The puppy, which was recently born to a New Orleans, Louisiana family, has gotten the attention of people all over the map - because the puppy is green!

Kare11 reports: The puppy was born last week and so far, he is perfectly healthy, just green. Veterinarians say this sometimes happens when the mother's amniotic fluid mixes with the placenta during birth and dyes the coat of the puppy.

According to veterinarians, the puppy will not be green for the rest of its life - eventually its coat will turn brown or white.
