NEW YORK, May 19, 2006 (UPI) -- The Verizon Foundation will expand its Web site to help U.S. charitable groups better manage their business operations.
The non-profit arm of the telecommunications group has offered nearly 100 classes on various subjects such as marketing and board-member recruitment since it was started up a year ago, and the number of classes to be offered will be increased, Verizon said.
Patrick Gaston, president of the Verizon Foundation, said, "The Resource Center is a testament to the importance of continuously developing new ways of leveraging 21st century technologies for the benefit of our communities. Because of the center, non-profits across the United States are discovering ways to reduce the amount of time they spend on administrative functions, leaving them more time to focus on the business of helping others."
